Comments about Race Face Dig Knee Guard 2012:

I've got the old slip on version of these pads and they are absolutely great. Having the ability to be put on without removing shoes can only make them better. They don't slip down at all, are extremely comfortable, and offer good protection with plastic armor in the knee cup and thick padding below the knee and on the sides. That said, I still would not wear them on an all day xc ride, and I wouldn't race DH in them, but that's not what they are made for. The work perfect as a pack pad. Just strap it to your camelback til you reach the gnarly stuff then put these babies on and voila, you're ready to rip.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    I waited a long time for the release of these pads but it was worth it. The knee-open back design allows the pads to be put on and removed with removing shoes. After wearing them, one must wonder why it took so long for a company to design a knee-only pad that isn't a slip on. The pads aren't restrictive and have never moved out of place even on long rides with lots of pedaling. Be careful with sizing as they run a little on the small side.
