Race Face’s Next 35 Low Rise Handlebars are built with a leading edge, unidirectional carbon fiber weave that allows it to maintain an XC weight, while boasting the resilience required for gravity riding. In addition, the carbon construction optimizes flex for improved small bump compliance, yet retains its stiffness when you sit up and power up the climbs. Increasing the bar diameter to 35 allows material to be trimmed from the bar resulting in a remarkable drop in overall weight, while maintaining the proven Race Face stiffness and performance we’ve come to know and love. At a full 760mm width, the Next 35 offers control and confidence when the trail gets fast and technical, while the 20mm rise provides a happy medium of low cockpit height with just enough rise.

Comments about Race Face Next 35 Low Rise Handlebar:
Bikers will spend a lot of money to lighten and improve their bikes. Sometimes we have to ask whether the dollars to value ratio is worth it. This is not one of those places. I recently purchase an Intense T275c, but couldn't quite justify the full Factory build at $10k. Being very particular about my bikes I knew that I would still have to swap out some parts even at that price. So, instead I got the Pro level and began my upgrade process.
The stock cockpit was the 740mm Renthal Fatbar Lite bars and matching stem, which are really nice, but this was my dream build bike, and I knew I wanted to go wider and lighter. I'm a huge fan of Race Face, and was planning on upgrading to the Race Face Next SL cranks as well (check my review on those), so I began looking at what they had to offer for cockpit setups.
Originally, the Next 35 didn't even make it on my list of bars to consider because these bars had been purely XC bars in the past and the new set up required a 35mm diameter clamp on the stem. I had several stems that I liked, and didn't want to change to 35mm. However, before I did any real research, I recalled how much a buddy of mine loved his 35mm DH bars versus a similar 31.8mm bar he had replaced. I very much trust this guy's opinion since he is a big guy who rides hard, and really puts products through the paces. So, this got me wondering why these bars needed a 35mm clamp.
I found the answer. These bars are WIDE. At 760mm these are some of the widest XC/Trail bars I've seen. In order to compensate for flex that comes with increased width manufacturers have 2 options: 1) more carbon 2) wider diameter. Race Face wanted to keep the weight down (180gm), and going to 35mm allowed them to produce a wider, lighter, and stiffer bar. Remember wider is not always better. There is a sweet spot, but that is different for each rider and bike setup. The beauty of wide bars is you can always cut them down once you find the right width for you.
These bars are very stiff, providing tons of control and input, but their vibration damping is top notch. These allows for longer, chunkier rides without hand pump and fatigue. I've ran several versions of ODI grips, and have had no rotation or slipping even without carbon paste being used. I've ridden these bars on terrain spanning from XC to DH, and have never had a lack of confidence in their performance. I won't be going back to 31.8mm.
