These are the same rings as their top end 4-arm cross-country chainrings, just with a 5-bolt mounting pattern.
Each ring is CNC machined in Canada from 7075-T6 aluminum, one of the strongest alloys available today (inner rings are steel for durability). Outer rings are made from 4mm thick plate, while the middle is 5mm thick for unsurpassed durability. The rings feature Race Faces patented SHIFT technology - hard-wearing stainless steel SHIFT chips for fast, predictable upshifts. All these features result in a ring setup thats 15% lighter than last years lineup, while retaining their incredible stiffness.

I'm on my third RaceFace middle chainring in 10 years -- not sure if that's good or bad. These five-bolt rings are getting harder to find, so it's great that RaceFace is making them! Not sure how I lost the teeth on my last one, but I am sure I can't fault the company!

I've ridden RaceFace chainrings since '99, and I've been very satisfied with them. When my 5-yr-old 32T ring recently failed me due to worn teeth, I ordered this one as a replacement. After a couple rides, I'm really impressed with the shifting, and it really is lighter than the older version by 3 grams (53 vs. 56).

Race face stuff is all dynamite but i must say i have had a 5 bolt crankset of theirs for over 5 years and am just now ordering new rings. i abused them heavily and they never let me down till now. the outer ring is only missing like 2 teeth after many many boulder and log impacts. i am definately sticking with race face.
