Race Face Rip Strip Lumbar Belt

Race Face’s Rip Strip Lumbar Belt is designed precisely for those kinds of rides. With ample storage compartments for a few hours on the trail, the Rip Strip features a 3 pocket system constructed of durable stretch mesh that allows quick and easy access to nutritionals and other essentials. Included in the 3 pocket system is a narrow center pocket for C02 canisters or a pump that secures with an elastic. Additional pockets include a waterproof media pocket, and zippered pockets at the left and right hip. The Rip Strip is literally a strip for a quick rip.

Excellent!

This belt fits very well and holds quite a bit of stuff. It doesn't move around as much as the hip packs, and you pretty much forget about it when you're riding. Another benefit is that you can put it under your shirt for a more stealth look.

not perfect but useful

I wear this a lot and while its not perfect I continue to use it because it's useful.
Pros: Holds essentials w/o requiring a pack. Disappears under loose trail shirts. Low profile.
Cons: can feel tight and restrictive at times, can be hot, holds only small items.

I dream of an addition that would create suspenders to allow it to be looser and not restrictive. I'd like it to hold more but would not want it to droop.

I still wear this often but and it had led to less pack days but I still prefer neither if i can avoid them.

Can you put a water bottle in it?

What does the belt look like??

BEST ANSWER: It looks like a weightlifting belt, but a lot more moveable and with pockets for tools/clif bars/etc. Works great for short rides where you want some tools on you but don't want a whole backpack.

It's pretty unobtrusive, it has an elastic strap with a Velcro closure. It's kind of like a reverse fanny pack, but not as bulky or dorky. It's Race Face, not bad!

Exactly like the picture :) It's probably 6"(ish) wide and wraps around your waist.... I wear it outside my shirt, you could probably wear it under.

The belt part is thick stretchy, about 4" wide. The portion where the pockets are is a flexible hard foam another 8" wide.
