Comments about Race Face Turbine 29" Wheelset:

after waiting for several months before i decided to purchase a set of wheels, i spent a considerable amount of time searching for something within my price range of under $500 bucks. I did alot of review searches and decided to go with the Turbines. There aren't many reviews on these wheels yet since they a fairly new to the market. I went with them because its from a reputable brand, they look pretty cool and i was also advised by the gear advisor that they were my better option based on what was discussed. I mounted them the same day they arrived, i am not running tubeless and they were very easy to mount, they came with all the end caps for the rear as well as a XD drive for a SRAM set up. I only needed to purchase the end caps to convert my front to 9mm Qr. First ride out i felt a great difference in my climbs, the wheels rolled smooth and handled great. They were a bit heavy from my expectations but am not too keen on much lighter wheels so am satisfied for what i got for the price range.

In my opinion its a wonderful set of wheels for an entry level racer like myself and i would definitely look forward to other lines from the manufacturer.

good performance/ value ratio

Comments about Race Face Turbine 29" Wheelset:

Purchased this wheelset to upgrade my gravel/ commuter bike. Mounted up 2.0 slicks as well as 35mm Pasela with pressures from 70-55- check tires width/ recommended pressure first for safety. The QR hub adapters are easy to change out by carefully following the instructions & patiently wiggling out the stock adapters till they are free. Freewheel mechanism has a more precise sound than the Shimano deore hubs that they replace. Used these for about a month, so far, so good. Wondering about the custom bearings- cann the y be replaced easily when the time comes? Overall a good quality wheelset with a great price on closeout.

Comments about Race Face Turbine 29" Wheelset:

Wheels are great but had a lot of difficulty getting the end caps on to replace them with the end caps for my quick releases. Had to take them to a shop that even had a hard time.

Comments about Race Face Turbine 29" Wheelset:

Wheels come built but with out any documentation on how to attach the random bag of parts to the hub and run a spindle.
Instructions would have saved me a trip to the bike shop and $30 in labor.

Comments about Race Face Turbine 29" Wheelset:

This wheelset is very well made. It's excellent for trail riding and all around use. The set is a little bit heavy by today's lightweight carbon fiber standards but it is a great set for cross country use. One great feature is the fact that the wheels are tubless ready.

Bought this wheelset because of the sealed bearings, 15mm front hub and the versatile rear hub that comes with 9mm qr, 10mm thru axle and 12mm adapters. I weigh over 250lbs and this wheelset has been great. Keep in mind I wouldn't recommend them for anything more than xc and trails

        • Q:

Would this wheelset be a compatible option of a 2013 Salsa Vaya? Im looking for a tubeless wheel for bikepacking on gravel/forest service roads. I'd be matching these with Panaracer Gravelking SK tubeless tires 700x40 for rough rides and Bontrager Race 700x32 for smoother rodes.

My LBS is a Trek dealer, would a Trek valve stem work with making these wheels tubeless?

The bike has a Sram X7 2x10 28-42 crank w/ a 11-36 cassette. More info can be found here

Yes, you should be fine but might want to look at a rim that has a bit narrower internal width to fit your 32s a bit better.
