I've got the Kevlar version on a Renthal FatBar Lite carbon, decorating the front of a vintage Stumpjumper. Riding is nearly all cross-country, but I'm a 200-lb grip weenie -- if I could figure out how to adequately pad stair tape, I'd probably ride that.

The best part about these grips is, well, the grip. The Kevlar version might be a bizarre color (almost glow-in-the-dark-in-the-daytime green), but they won't slip, even when drenched in sweat (in the rain). The tactile sensation isn't the grippiest you'll find, but I've been consistently amazed at the lack of slippage in nasty conditions. We'll see how they handle in the Pacific NW winter...

The worst part? They're narrow. Like, really narrow. Narrow enough that my fingers have gone numb just riding into the park. A lot of this is due to my riding position, but an extra 15mm of diameter would be *great*.

I imagine that they'd work just about perfectly with gloves, but I haven't found a pair yet.

I've used Renthal products during all my years riding dirtbikes; everything from sprockets, grips, chains, handlebars and would not trust anything else on my KTM. When I heard Renthal had emerged in the MTB scene, I was thrilled! Got the carbon light 740mm handlebars and grips. It made my SB5c feel just like my dirtbike; stable and secure. Unfortunately the screws are placed separately instead of on the grip, and I lost one when openning the box (why would they?). Ok, my bad, my fault. No other screw from any other grip I may have had, fitted so I ordered another set. While tightenning, 3 out of 4 were damaged. This never happened to me with the stainless steel screes that come with lizzard skins. Also the end caps would remain lose and turn freely which makes a ratelling noise when at speed going down a hill. I guess I will beat yhem to death and then will have to cut them off since the allen tool will just not engage. Awesome grip, compromised screw!!

These are fantastic grips. I like how the company produces several grips at different grip/tacky levels. You can choose soft and high cushion up to firm and extremely durable. Wish more companies would do this.

So far the heat, humidity and harsh sun in Central America hasn't been able to chew up the Kevlar yet. 9 moths or so and still going strong. Love the feel, usually ride with gloves (no padding in gloves). Little better feel for me than the Odi I was running.

First off all. These are great looking grips. Very high quality all around.

Even the packaging was nice and easy to pull apart.

They're super grippy which is good, but is going to take some getting used to. I had ESI's before so even the "medium" hard Renthal grip was so grippy and hard my hands were pretty raw after my first weekend riding with them. Next time I'll get the softest compound.

My hands were going numb after a few hours of riding with the stock grips on my bike. Installing the kevlar grips made a huge difference. Same thickness as the bontrager race slip ons these replaced, but way more comfortable.
