Comments about Ritchey Race Slick 700C Tire:
After 800 miles on the front, the tire tread has no nicks, cuts or flats, but the sidewalls are cracked all over. Bizarre. Still, really sticky compound on the sides glues the front end to corners.

Comments about Ritchey Race Slick 700C Tire:
(This review is for the 120tpi WCS version) On true "race" type tires, I had some trouble with flats ending my races, and had been looking acceptable compromise between the lightweight/smooth rolling/grippy/fragile/expensive race tires and durable training tires that don't leave me waiting by the side of the road for the wheel car so often. It terms of the smooth ride quality and cornering grip, these tires perform every bit as well as the high-end race tires but they last longer and less prone to puncture for half the price.
The only real compromise here is about 50 grams of weight per tire. 120 TPI is a decent thread count and they use soft/sticky rubber like the race tires, which usually results in smooth riding, sticky tires at the expense of shorter wear and less puncture resistance. I think they simply laid the rubber on a little thicker to make it last a little longer and resist punctures, which would explain the extra weight. They also appear to be a little wider than most 23mm tires.

Comments about Ritchey Race Slick 700C Tire:
This is the second pair of Race Slicks (I have used the WCS version only), and I love their handling and puncture resistance. Last week I rode over a broken beer bottle, slowed to a stop, brushed the glass out of the tire with my glove, and rode on. No flat. It seems quite flat resistant and has excellent rolling and cornering capabiblity.
I would have gotten more life out of them, but did not rotate them enough and flattened the rear tread. I will buy them again.
Comments about Ritchey Race Slick 700C Tire:
Use it for trainings only. Good price, good rolling and smoothness for a 26 TPI tire. And it is also folding (good for overseas shipping because of the box size). No flats yet. Good deal.
Comments about Ritchey Race Slick 700C Tire:
10 year MTB racer and winner who trains on the road and does a little road racing now and again when I have the time.
