Easy to set up

Comments about Rockshox Monarch Plus RC3 DB Rear Shock:

This shock is super plush in comparison to my old Fox DHX Air 4.0. The compression settings or firm, regular, and fully active are what drew me to this shock. My 6 inch travel feels like a hardtail when the switch is flipped to firm. This makes it very easy to use on flatter trails and paths. The fully active setting made rear wheel traction very noticeable. My only gripe is that I'm 235lbs and had to ramp the pressure nearly up to the limit of 350psi in order to acheive the right amount of sag. I also needed to get the red volume spacers to help prevent me from bottoming out. I added 5 and haven't had many problems but I only took it around a moderate xc trail. The spacers were very easy to install. Even for someone who never would think to take a shock apart.
Kit comes with a pump and a maintenance kit but no replacement oil or volume spacers.
Using mainly for xc/am with a couple dh/fr park visits during the summer.

Comments about Rockshox Monarch Plus RC3 DB Rear Shock:

This review is for the 195X46 Stumpumper EVO rear shock, which I installed don my 2013 Stumpjumper Expert Carbon 29er (OE Brain shock 194X48).
I have a few weeks of riding on it now and it is SO much better in the initial and mid stroke over the small square hits (rocks, roots) than the Brain shock.
It barely fits the frame , clearance is TIGHT near the front eyelet, and cannot use a 21 ounce regular water bottle because of the shock reservoir. Small downside for how it has change d the trail worthiness of the shock.
The tune M/L seems right for my bike and riding style. I rarely jump, so I removed the 5 volume spacer bands and I am very pleased with how the bike rides.

Hello, One of the size on your website says 7.785x2.0(200x51), is this just a typo, it should be 7.875x2.0? Anyways, I just want to make sure it will fit my 2015 Giant Trance 2.

      Thank you,

Harry, Nice catch!! You are right, that is a fat finger mistake that we will take care of right away. That measurement is correct for the bike you mentioned.
