In perfect world you’d just be able to set your seat height at one position and have it be the be all end all height. Well, we live in reality and when you’re ripping through a switch back or relentlessly attacking a climb, you’re seat height is never right. The RockShox Reverb is here to help. The RockShox reverb allows you to infinitely adjust your seat height, this is super useful. Having a dropper post allows you to never have to get off your bike again to adjust your seat height before a climb or decent.

You may be asking “How does this all work?” well the answer is pretty simple. A remote is attached to either the left or right side. This lever controls the hydraulic actuation of the seat post. When you actuate the RockShox Reverb lever it allows the seatpost to move up, when you sit on your seat while actuating the lever you are able to make the seatpost go down. Pretty simple huh? We think so!

The RockShox Reverb is perfect for anyone who is tired of getting on their bike to adjust their seat height before a climb or decent. This is also a great upgrade to your rig. Versatility and functionality, that’s just a few words that be used to describe the Reverb seatpost by RockShox.

Comments about Rockshox Reverb Seatpost 100mm 2012:

Bought this post to replace a broken Joplin 4. I have to say, dropper posts have come a long way since I bought the Joplin. From the first ride, the Reverb is awesome. Works flawlessly. The remote is easy to access and since its hydraulic, you don't need to strain your thumb to get the seat to activate. If you have Avid brakes, the remote is matchmaker compatible so no extra bar space is needed. So far this seatpost is great, zero complaints.

Comments about Rockshox Reverb Seatpost 100mm 2012:

I've installed many of these seatposts and have ridden a few for a few months now. I have zero complaints.

I got this seatpost because I was tired of constantly getting off my bike to raise or lower my seatpost. There is no perfect seat post height, you always have to change it depending on what you ride. This seatpost gives me the ability to change the positioning with a flip of a switch.

It's perfect! RockShox high quality product!!

Comments about Rockshox Reverb Seatpost 100mm 2012:

After doing some online research on adjustable height seat posts, I was down to deciding between the Gravity Dropper and the Reverb and went with the Reverb against my better instinct (which told me a tried and time tested mechanical system was less prone to damage as opposed to a recently designed first generation hydraulic system) basically because it was backed by the Rock Shox brand. This was one year ago, so this review has the benefit of extended use of the post. While rather on the heavy side, the seatpost gives an excellent first impression. It looks and feels solidly built, from the post itself to the line and the remote control. The line is long enough to route comfortably down the seat tube and up the down tube to the handlebar, but if you want to route it along the top tube you will definitely need to shorten the line. Installation on the handlebar is easy enough as long as you have SRAM shifters that are compatible with the Reverb mount. If you don't, especially if you have Deore shifters with shift indicator, it will be hard to spread everything out at comfortable distances from the grip because the seat post control takes up a lot of space at an angle on the handlebar. Saddle installation and positioning are pretty much standard. Also, with the remote installed on the handlebar, you will not be able to turn the bike upside down on the handlebar and saddle to fix a flat on the trail, for instance. Finally, you cannot have anything rubbing against the seat post because if you scratch it, it will leak, so if you use a frame adaptor for your bike rack you could scrath it. The first ride on an adjustable height seat post is amazing and will leave you wondering how you ever rode without it. The benefit of not having to get off your bike to adjust saddle height for hard descents is enormous; however, you will eventually see how it is applicable not only to steep descents but how a one inch drop improves cornering technique on smooth flowy downhill. An adjustable height seat post is a must: just try it once. The Reverb worked very well for three months, doing what it was supposed to do when and how it was supposed to do it. Personally, I would rather not have infinite adjustment, because what that really means is that you can't just click it back into a preset position when returning to normal riding height, and instead you have to reset it every time you go back, but that is a personal preference. The remote is soft and easy to actuate and the saddle returns to position smoothly and at a speed you can adjust, so there is no danger of getting hit by the saddle. The real issue with the Reverb is that the seal is consistently unreliable. After three months of use the seat post suddenly lost all pressure and left me stranded eight miles from the trailhead. Sure enough, the seal had broken and my seat tube was full of oil. Not fun riding eight miles back without a saddle. Returned to Jenson for warranty service and had it back about a month later, supposedly with the new and improved redesigned seal, as seal quality, I soon found out, had been an issue with this seat post from the start. I reinstalled the seat post, used the same as before, and sure enough four months later the seal has broken again. This is a top shelf Rock Shox seatpost, the most expensive in the market, and you expect performance, but it does not deliver. Seven months use from a [$] seatpost is unacceptable. The seal is simply not strong enough to handle the pressure involved, which is probably the reason Fox has been testing its own prototypes since 2010 but has not launched a finished product. This is a definite do not buy, but that should not take away from the enormous benefit of adjustable height seat posts in general. However, for now the best option is probably a mechanical cable-actuated indexed seat post.
