Prices shown in currencies other than USA Dollars are estimates based on current exchange rates. We will charge your credit card in USA Dollars on the day your order is shipped, and the conversion to your local currency will be done at the prevailing rate by your credit card issuer.
Shipments outside the USA are declared as “bike parts” for customs purposes and will include the actual amount paid for merchandise and shipping. Jenson USA will not mark your parcel as a “gift”, declare a value lower than the actual price paid, or otherwise prepare false customs information.

Rocky Mountain Flare 29er Cross Country
Rocky Mountain Bicycles humbly began in the basement of a Vancouver British Columbia bike shop, in 1981. The employees first imported bikes to sell to their customers. Later, they began manufacturing and importing frames to their exact specifications. Rocky Mountain now produces mountain bikes, road bikes, and urban bicycles. The company has come quite a ways from their modest beginning; however, their core values have never wavered. Rocky Mountain Bicycles is just as sought after now as they were in 1981.
The Rocky Mountain Flare is a great value. The Flare combines great price and high performance by using frame geometry from the Vertex line and high quality Shimano parts. Rocky Mountain wanted to improve on the current race geometry for 29er Cross Country bikes. So they set out and extensively tested many different configurations until they formulated what they feel is the best geometry for all terrains.
Hydroformed from 6061 series alloy, the Rocky Mountain Flare’s frame is strong and light. The Flare takes advantage of Rocky Mountain’s years of experience building frame and bikes. Rocky Mountain tightened up the wheel base brought up the bottom bracket; this reduced pedal strikes but more importantly it made the Flare handle better. Another advantage of the Flare is the shortened headtube; this makes the bike feel like a 26” bike. As a result of this geometry and engineering we’re left with an agile and fast 29er capable of hitting technical terrain.
Rocky Mountain knew that keeping the Flare a high performance bike at an affordable price is a difficult goal to accomplish. They fit the bill by using the Suntour XCT 29er fork. The Suntour XCT is a coil sprung fork. The Lowers are constructed from durable magnesium and the uppers from 4130 steel. These forks are durable and high performing! Rocky Mountain decided to use a 9 speed drivetrain. 9 speed is a proven drivetrain. It has been in use for years and is a consistent and reliable system. Shimano Atlus EZ fire trigger shifters, Acera front derailleur, and Alivio rear derailleur round out the drivetrain. Shimano makes great components that are reliable for many years to come.
