If you can only buy one AM rig and you trend more towards DH then the Slayer is the bike for you. The designers at Rocky Mountain were looking to push the evolution of the AM category by creating a lightweight, yet durable bike that could climb as well as it could rip downhill. Using creative design features such as a light, strong, integrated rocker pivot, 2 piece bottom bracket shell and using an e-type derailleur that bolts onto the swing arm, the designers at Rocky Mountain were able to create a truly ALL mountain bike that was light and efficient, while staying true to Rocky’s DH heritage.

FREE PROFESSIONAL ASSEMBLY

Each Rocky Mountain complete bike includes free professional assembly by Jenson USA. Prior to shipping your bike, we will completely build and tune it, just as we would for an in-store purchase. Then, we'll partially disassemble and carefully pack your bike for shipping. Please allow 3 business days for the bike build process prior to shipment.

When your bike arrives, it will take about 30 minutes to unpack and perform basic re-assembly tasks (such as installing the front wheel and seatpost) using common hand tools. Jenson USA has created a helpful video (below) to guide you through this process. Stuck? Please call us at (888) 880-3811 and we’ll be happy to help.

Comments about Rocky Mountain Slayer 30 Bike '12:

I bought this bike about a month ago as a long overdue upgrade from my last bike. In my price rang this was by far the best rig that I found with all around decent components. I was also looking at a Santa Cruz Butcher in the same range and a Specialized and a Norco but they got too expensive for a decent build. The fork, shock and brakes work flawlessly. My biggest praise is that, compared to my last bike which was admittedly awful, the slayer feels solid and I don't ride it like I need to protect it. The downside that may not even be a downside is that both the fork and rear shock feel softer than i would prefer (but i did just switch from hardtail) but I'm going to try to pump up the PSI a bit and hopefully they will stiffen up, although, the rear suspension feels bottomless. The other reason why I was hesitant to give it a five star rating is that I haven't pushed the Slayer to it's limits yet so I dont know where said limits are yet but they seem far off. If youre on a budget the Slayer is probably the best youll find in this range.
