Each Rocky Mountain complete bike includes free professional assembly by Jenson USA. Prior to shipping your bike, we will completely build and tune it, just as we would for an in-store purchase. Then, we'll partially disassemble and carefully pack your bike for shipping. Please allow 3 business days for the bike build process prior to shipment.
When your bike arrives, it will take about 30 minutes to unpack and perform basic re-assembly tasks (such as installing the front wheel and seatpost) using common hand tools. Jenson USA has created a helpful video (below) to guide you through this process. Stuck? Please call us at (888) 880-3811 and we’ll be happy to help.

This bike is a blast to ride, very little set up needed. Bike feels a little shorter than the older style slayer, this is down to the new "Straight up" technology. The bike is light and agile, the component quality is excellent, this bike is great value for the price.

This bike is awesome. I ride trails in the front range of Colorado Springs with this bike and it can handle everything I've thrown at it easily. A bike like this obviously shines going down hill but I was surprised at how well it climbs. I would definitely recommend the Rocky Mountain Slayer to anyone that loves to bomb down hills but likes to earn it by climbing to the top.

Comments about Rocky Mountain Slayer 50 Bike '12:
5'10 got the 18" frame and it fits great. This bike climbs really really well. I'm actually blown away that a bike that kills it so good on the downhill can climb as good as it does. The Slayer is a saddle climber, which takes some discipline and trust but when you ckeep your butt on the seat there is virtually no movement in the suspension.
The bike on the DH feels pretty darn close to having a DH bike under you! The 6.5" in the rear have felt pretty bottomless. And have the BIG disc rotors is a treat.
The bike is the complete package. Just did a 30 miler on the Tahoe Rim Trail to Toads Downhill. Lots and lots and lots of climbing and serious downhill...this is what the Slayer is made for!
Super happy with the bikes price to performance. You cant go wrong with this bike.

Ok where to start...
First off, I'm a weekend warrior type. I can handle myself on a trail but I'm no speed demon and if it gets too technical I usually have to dismount.
I've been riding cross country bikes all my life so this Slayer was a step towards DH for me. I was definitely not prepared for the change in geometry. I found it hard to maneuver in tight sections, especially when climbing. But geesus, when it came to the downhill sections, I just pointed and bombed. The bike soaked up every single root, drop, rock, etc in my way. I used to have to worry about picking lines, avoiding obstructions, etc. But not with this thing. The suspension feels bottomless...and I'm a heavy guy at 230. Amazing.
My last bike was the Altitude so I'm familiar with the "Straight Up Geometry". However, I didn't find it as affective on the Slayer. For me, because of the longer fork, the front end seemed to always want to lift off the ground and I found myself really leaning into the climb to compensate.
Shifting is surgically accurate. I have to get used to that too. The slightest pressure on the lever and it goes. I'm used to having to really mash the lever to change gears. But I do that here and I accidently go through 3 gears with one push. Not a good or bad thing, just an observation.
Not sure how I feel about the skinnier back tire set up. I know a lot of folks run this set up but the back wheel just seems flaky to me; like it constantly wants to slide out, even on a straight. Probably all in my head...but I plan swapping with at least 2.35s in the back.
I just ordered a hi riser bar because the stock low rise isn't comfortable for me. not a big deal, just personal preference.
Front fork is great but it doesn't lock out. I don't really care but it would be nice to have for the fire roads and flat sections...
I had to learn how to put air in my RP23 since it was set at about 75psi when I got it. haha, I didn't know anything about this shock so when I went to ride it for the first time, it was bottoming out so bad I couldn't pedal without scraping the ground! I was like nooo! The reviews the bb was low but I didn't know it'd be this low! Anyway after some education, I figured out my problem (needed way more psi in there), got myself a shock pump, and I'm good to go. Now I know the RP23 pretty well. And I wish it had the lock out function too. propedal 3 is the closest it gets to lock out.
the brakes look awesome. that's all I've got for the brakes. They stop me just fine so...I don't really know what else to say.
20mm thru axle is SWEET. I'm sure..I actually can't tell the difference between a thru axle and a QR because I suck at life.
Lastly, the bike is absolutely a work of art. I transport it in my truck bed and I always catch folks staring at it. It's burly, beastly... I just wish I was skilled enough to maximize the capabilities of this monster!
