Comments about SKS P45 Fenders:

These are *the* standard in fenders.

They give very good coverage to all but the rider directly and closely behind the bike. (And there are common attachments and hacks to fix that.) They come with a ton of quality mounting hardware to facilitate installation on a variety of bikes. And they are light and durable for what they are.

However, they are indisputably a pain to install. You could easily lose an entire day putting them on, especially if you are trying to make them work on a bike with a rear rack and/or certain common types of dropouts.

In addition, I'd like to see more from SKS. Why isn't passive reflection built into these fenders? Why aren't reflector mounts and/or light mounts built in? Riders who use these fenders will certainly be riding in overcast/dark conditions. Why aren't there to-rack mountain options? This would cut down on some of the clutter at the drop-outs and cut out the long run of the fender stays from drop-out-to-fender which accounts for much of the finickiness in their adjustment.

Fenders are great, i use them here in socal where it doesnt rain much. But other than keeping you dry while you ride through the occasional puddle they help keep all the dirt, dust, and road grit off of your drivetrain allowing it to last longer and run smoother. Nice perk is they add a touch of class to any bike.

Put these on a 650B city bike with ~33mm tires. They work perfectly so far, no complaints!

They are better than any other plastic fenders out there, and they are well-made in Germany. What especially sets them apart is the quick-release safety mechanism for the front fender.
