    Stop on a dime
I found them super easy to install, very small break in period. They were recommended by a Pro rider. Had organic ones but imo they don't stop as good.

    Great pads
I use these for my Guide RSC. Stopping power is great. They seem to wear well. I have no problems with squealing unless they are soaked. I coupled these with the Centerline rotors and they are a great match

    Better than the stock pads
Love these things on my guide rsc brakes. They behave way better than the original pads in my opinion. Great braking power but not too grabby and really help with the modulation that the guides are known for. Now if only the piston in my brakes would stop getting stuck and SRAM would stop giving me the run around on the warranty.

These brakes work great in all conditions I've tried. I'd absolutely prefer them compared to the organic model.

Lots of bite despite the bark
Metallic pads grab stronger and with the dust can be little noisy but only when feathering the brakes.

PROS: Durable, Easy to Use, Last longer than organic grab is quick

CONS: Loud when feathering the brakes, last longer

Whats the pro /con of steel vs aluminum back?
    A shopper on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Just a couple of differences. The steel backed pads will be a little heavier but will also soak heat better than aluminum. The downside to this is they'll retain that heat more as well meaning you'll get squealing brakes on long downhill runs where you're on the brakes more. The plus side to aluminum is they're lighter and will shed heat (cool) better. One potential problem with this is that heat will also transfer to your brake fluid causing some fade as well as degrade the fluid more quickly. Of course all of this depends on how and where you use your brakes. Hope that helps.
are the sintered pads this item number 00.5318.003.005?

I have Elixir 5 brakes . Is this pad compatible ?
    chuck K on May 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Nope. These are for XO Trail or SRAM Guide. Not for Elixir 5.
Will the steel backed organic fit Guide R brakes? I recently purchased similar pads from a shop for the Guide pad, but the pads were to big for my Guides.
    TyDually on Jun 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Both should fit. You need to reset the piston (push them back in ) as you will have same issue.. Have the guys at the shop show you.
Do these fit the avid trail 9? They look exactly like the ones in my bike. I ordered pads for avid elixir 9, and those are way smaller....wish things were easier to order properly
    A shopper on Apr 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Avid Trail 9s do use this exact pad.
