    So far, so good
I have no idea if Aluminum backed brake pads are better than steel. My guess is they would be at removing heat from the brake system, as well as being lighter. But who knows, would I have noticed steel backed pads vs aluminum? can't say. One feature that might be true is aluminum backed pads are easier on caliper pistons, and since a caliper rebuild is most likely the most expensive service to your brakes, aluminum backed pads might help in long run cost prevention.

One note: make sure to break your new pads in correctly. There are lots of helpful videos on YouTube for this. I pulled a parking lot wheelie with out breaking them in and was surprised when the brakes had nothing. :)

    Keep riding and have fun.

    Stop on a dime
I found them super easy to install, very small break in period. They were recommended by a Pro rider. Had organic ones but imo they don't stop as good.

    Great pads
I use these for my Guide RSC. Stopping power is great. They seem to wear well. I have no problems with squealing unless they are soaked. I coupled these with the Centerline rotors and they are a great match

Whats the pro /con of steel vs aluminum back?
    A shopper on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Just a couple of differences. The steel backed pads will be a little heavier but will also soak heat better than aluminum. The downside to this is they'll retain that heat more as well meaning you'll get squealing brakes on long downhill runs where you're on the brakes more. The plus side to aluminum is they're lighter and will shed heat (cool) better. One potential problem with this is that heat will also transfer to your brake fluid causing some fade as well as degrade the fluid more quickly. Of course all of this depends on how and where you use your brakes. Hope that helps.
