I like SRAM over Shimano because all of their chains include the removable link which makes chain cleaning and bike maintenance a breeze!

It works fine and I usually keep my chain clean and well lubed, so even the cheapest chains do last me for quite a while. I do not notice much difference between an expensive chain over the cheaper ones (durability wise). The expensive ones are probably lighter and some have a rounded edge on each of the links for smoother shifting, but that's about it for me. Again, these are maintenance items which get replaced regularly, so for me cheaper is better. I do prefer SRAM because of their master link though.

I had exact same experience with the shimano rear der as the other reviewer here. Under load (hammering for steep climb) the chain skips the cog like crazy. Seems this new chain is so readily shift? On a bike stand, I have adjusted the chain to shift absolutely perfectly. But once on the trail and under load, it kept jumping from cogs to cogs. Very unusual. Previously I had a PC-99 chain on and had no such problem. It's really hard to tell however, what's happening. But it definitely shifted a gear and also throw off the chain in the front der.

Was looking for a cheap chain replacement for my DH rig, and the 951 does the trick. No bling factor, just a well made and efficient chain. A little heavy when compared to high dollar chains, but works just the same.

Nothing fancy this is just a durable chain with a great price and Powerlink is an added bonus. I'm not too concerned with weight on my DH, and I don't care about the finish so why pay the big bucks?

I really needed to upgrade/replace my old chain on my 2005 Trek 4900. It's a great bike and has held up well (first bike I really ever "owned") so it deserved a good chain I thought.
