I am extremely disappointed in SRAM. The drive-side bearing has a plastic cover which moves outward towards the crank arm leaving the bearing exposed to dust and dirt, water and mud. This results in removing the cranks after each ride, re-greasing and fitting the plastic part. On my BB the moving away from the bearing caused around 1mm (thickness of the plastic) of play between the BB and the crank's "thru-pipe".This had the effect that the driveside bearing was receiving the pedal force at an angle (in my non-mechanical opinion) and the bearing is now "Shot/seized/useless", this is after less than two months. Poor finishing. I've used the previous version for 3 years doing around 4000 miles of All Mountain/Freeride riding which served its purpose beyond expectation. I hope this is not a sign of quality being sacraficed due to quantity...

Comments about SRAM Team GXP Bottom Bracket:

I bought this to replace my bottom bracket to use with a Truvativ compact crank (GXP style) for my road bike. Very easy to instal, fits like a glove and is buttery smooth. I only wish I had done this a lot earlier and with such a great price, will probably replace on a more frequent basis.

Comments about SRAM Team GXP Bottom Bracket:

Not too many other options for GXP. There are a couple of brands that cost 3 times what this does. My previous one lasted 7 years, and I have one that is 4 years old on another bike.
Granated, I don't ride wet conditions, or more than a handful of BB deep water crossings per year.

Comments about SRAM Team GXP Bottom Bracket:

My bike is about five years old, never changed out this part but did a complete drive train overhaul including chain, chain rings, cassette, rear derailer and cable. Everything seemed good but when I did a spin test the cranks would only go two revolutions at best (with chain on) Greased up the old GXP BB but not much improvement, it had lots of drag. Replaced this in 30 minutes and cranks spun at least twice as much, 4-5 times around. If in doubt, just replace this item, way too cheap to second guess..it's priced to be disposable. did more research on this than I thought needed but my conclusion is sound, it may not be the best but you don't have much of a choice and replacing it is easy and cheap.

This is a nice, basic bottom bracket. I use this with my XX1 crankset. I've only done a few rides but so far so good. I'll report back when there's a problem.

This BB does what it's supposed to; spin freely and never make me think about it. It has a nice finish and makes a solid interface between my frame and cranks.

The Stylo will not fit a Shimano external BB... has to be GXP.
