SRAM X-Sync Eagle 3mm Ofst Chainring

SRAM X-Sync Eagle 3mm Offset Chainring

INTEGRITY

After studying the performance and wear of drivetrain components in the lab and in the real world, SRAM engineers have redesigned X-Synch chainrings. Enter X-Synch 2 Eagle chainrings. They are now more durable, run quieter and are more efficient. Given a longer positive-rake tooth they will work perfectly with Eagle chains to increase retention along with decreasing friction and noise no matter what the conditons.

Reviews

Bikerumor - "Basically, Eagle is substantially lighter than a 2x, has a 500% range, and makes the bike simpler. In other words, it frees you from ever needing a front derailleur again." - Tyler Benedict

Vital - "Eagles are going to invade the planet, eat front derailleurs alive, and leave them for dead." - Chris Hilton

  • Q:

I Have a Trance 3 with Race Face turbine crank set, can I just get the eagle chain ring and attached to turbine cranks ? (direct mount compatible), and if so, which offset should I choose 3 or 6 mm?

The 3mm is always the safier, it s pushing the chainring outside the frame. The 6 will not passed at the chain stay

      A:

The Race Face Turbine uses a spider for mounting the chainring. I don¹t
      think the spider is removable.
Even if the spider was removable, it does not share the same attachment
      (direct mount) tooth design.
If you are you talking about the Turbine Cinch, the Cinch does have a
removable spider which will enable you to use a direct mount chainring.
However, the Race Face direct mount tooth pattern is not compatible with the
Sram Eagle direct mount tooth pattern.
If you were to get a Sram crankset and Eagle chainring, then the 3mm or 6mm
is a matter of trying to keep the same chainline as you already have.
Normally the 6mm chainring is used because when you swap out a spider to put
on a direct mount chainring, you want to keep the teeth, of the chain, at
the same amount of distance away from the crank arm as it was before you
      changed anything.
The 3mm is often used when you want to change the distance of the chainline
for it to be closer to the crank arm. Which means that the chainring will be
farther away from the bottom bracket. The 3mm offset is normally used on
boost applications (wider rear axle spacing).
All this being said, I use a PF30 68/73 crankset that came with a spider
mount. My rear spacing is 12 by 142. I switched out my truvative crankset
for an eagle crankset, which will take a direct mount or a spider, and I
used the 3mm chainring in order to achieve a correct chainline.
Sorry but chainline is a whole different story.
Race Face does make a chainring that is compatible with a Sram system. Sram
Eagle does not make a system that is compatible with Race Face.
In short, Cinch is not compatible with Sram.
      Hope this helps.
