Didn't buy my rear derailleur at Jenson, but found a similar deal a few moths ago, installed it and combined with the x.9 shifters, new shimano deore xt CS-M770 cassette, deore M590 Crankset and the existing Deore front derailleur my shifting is 100% more smooth and efficient. Makes riding my '11 Trek Mamba a joy to ride compared to the shoddy x.4/x.5 and low grade shimano crank/cassette that came stock on it. Worthy & worthwile upgrade!

I 've been using SRAM derail. for around 6 years. The shifting is great but the durablity is somewhat to be desired. The plastic where the chain gap adj. screw can break (hitting the derail. on a rock or a stick )rendering the derail. useless.

I used for las 4 year, it never leat me abandoned. Works great while new, after 6 months you need to fix constanly. It is hard to clean also.
For the price and durability is a good buy.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2010:

This rear derailleur is a decent upgrade to what was a stock X5. I haven't had any real problems with it. Giving me grief is the cable tension (grips/plates.) There isn't a great amount of tension on the cable with how they have this designed. The cable tends to loosen up.

Ive been riding on my X9 short cage for over a year and no problems at all! i bought a short cage because i was sick of dealing with bent cages, this thing is burly. shifting is crisp and always dialed.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2010:

I'm real hard on equipment so I had to quit buying XO stuff. This is every bit as good as XO and 1/2 the price. Some of my friends have even gone to X7 due the punishing rocky trails here in Colorado. In my mind X9 is the best kit.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2010:

One word to describe these rear derailleurs *AWESOME*. So good in fact that I have them installed on ALL my bikes now. I love the precise 1:1 shifting (lets you get to that sweet shifting spot). They are rugged but looks nice as well.

I have this X-9 short cage on my Tern 20" folding bike (9-speed), another short cage on my Raleigh 26" single chainring mountain bike (9-speed) and my Salsa Vaya 2 (long cage, 10-speed) which came with this derailleur stock with clutch.

All work flawlessly and could not be happier with the purchase. I would highly recommend this to everyone I know! The cable routing was different which required a little cutting and such, but no bit deal on install.

By the way, H and L limit screws are on the outside for easy access ! again AWESOME!

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2010:

I am more of a shimano loyalist. I recently bought a bike decked out sram and had to swap out the rear derailleur. I wanted to keep it in the stock configuration so I bought the x9 replacement. It shifts well and does its job. I like the action on the shimano better.

I've had one X9 for two years now, and after banging on countless rocks it still works decently, I am getting a new one for my DH rig, and the old one will go to my XC bike now. These things are good!

Put this on a 7 speed and it worked great, shifts cleanly, and is a great replacement for an old XT. Had to change my shifters though.
