Didn't buy my rear derailleur at Jenson, but found a similar deal a few moths ago, installed it and combined with the x.9 shifters, new shimano deore xt CS-M770 cassette, deore M590 Crankset and the existing Deore front derailleur my shifting is 100% more smooth and efficient. Makes riding my '11 Trek Mamba a joy to ride compared to the shoddy x.4/x.5 and low grade shimano crank/cassette that came stock on it. Worthy & worthwile upgrade!

I 've been using SRAM derail. for around 6 years. The shifting is great but the durablity is somewhat to be desired. The plastic where the chain gap adj. screw can break (hitting the derail. on a rock or a stick )rendering the derail. useless.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur:

Replaced my stock SRAM X9 9sp on my 2010 GT Sanction 2x9 because I wore it out. But I decided to go with the medium cages this time. According to SRAM the capacity of the medium is supposed to be 37T which is what I run. But once installed the chain was totally slack in the small combinations. Thanks to SRAMS error I now have to pay shipping and send it back and wait for new long cage replacement. This is why I would rather by from a local store, otherwise it ends up costing you more than you save if you have to return it.

Works great on my 1x drivetrain. Some say 9-speed is not cool any more, but I enjoy having low cost replacement parts.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur:

Upgraded to the X9 from a X7 on my DH Rig and couldn't be happier. Shifting is very smooth and precise. Derailer is very stout and has withstood numerous DH runs as well as overgrown and muddy singletrack and keeps on shifting with ease. Super easy install and adjustment are also simple and quick.

Comments about SRAM X.9 9 Speed Rear Derailleur:

I bought this as a replacement for my old SRAM derailer which lasted almost 5 seasons of heavy use. I mainly went with SRAM again for shifter compatability. I'm not sure why they come in different cage lengths, but I went with a medium cage in hopes of keeping the delicate derailer out of harms way. It seems to work well on the rocky, rooted trails I ride. The shifts are postitive and chain whip is kept to a minimum. Oh, it was easy to install too.

I used for las 4 year, it never leat me abandoned. Works great while new, after 6 months you need to fix constanly. It is hard to clean also.
For the price and durability is a good buy.
