This is my second 11-28 SRAM 9 speed cassette. Requires I have the rear derailer adjusted as far as possible from the cassette to accomodate the 28T cog. Never any performance problems. Love the climbing power it gives me when added to my triple 2006 Specialized Allez Sport road bike. Can hardly go for a ride in my area without 1000-2000 feet of climbing. Many of the shorter climbs are 11-14%, so this makes it much easier on my knees and gives me more endurance.

This is a solid cassette for the money (although sometimes you can find the 970 on sale for the same price, and that cassette gives you much better performance). It shifts fine, but not as quickly as others. It's a bit heavier, but it also lasts a while.

Comments about SRAM PG-950 9 Speed Cassette:

I purchased this 11-32 cassette to replace a 12-25 cassette on my CX/road bike. My rides consists of hills so this cassette enables me to climb them without burning out. Shifting is compatible with my pre-installed Shimano drivetrain and they were slightly cheaper in price compared to Shimano. I stated heavy as a con, but it isn't noticeable, just slightly heavier than most.

Comments about SRAM PG-950 9 Speed Cassette:

Although I have only put a few hundred miles on this cassette, I will say this. Very smooth shifting compared to the hg 20 it replaced. Gone are the clunks and bangs with just an occasional noisy shift.

Used with Deore Der,ALivio shifters, Alivio cranks and front Der. Newish chain. ALl components are less than 200 miles old.
Seems like I found a sweet spot with my gears and I don't seem to shift as much. Could be just me.

Nice and shiny slightly heavier than HG20 no problems so far. I use trail riding, some technical and general off road use.
I purchased when I upgraded my wheels so I would have two complete wheel sets ready to go.

I would buy again very satisfied.

SRAM cassettes have always functioned good with my Shimano drivetrain and shifters. SRAM has more gearing choices so it is my pick for cassettes.

Comments about SRAM PG-950 9 Speed Cassette:

Bought the SRAM PG-950 to replace another 950 that was worn after 4 years of hard riding, and couldn't be happier! Smooth shifting and super easy to install. Not the lightest cassette, but for the price it is a steal! Great for DH/Freeride as well as XC.

Bought this because you cant beat the deal! Theres enough options for xc, dh, or road. I stuck it on my spare wheelset to swap if I blow out a wheel during a race weekend.

This was part of a bike conversion from drop bar to flatbar road bike, changing her from 8 to 9spd. This inexpensive cassette was inexpensive, shifts nicely, and works great with her Shimano derailleurs, SRAM trigger shifters, and SRAM chain.

I use this cassette on road wheels for my MTB. The closer ratios make it easier to keep your optimal cadence without loosing too much speed. This cassette is on par with Shimano equivalent.

Comments about SRAM PG-950 9 Speed Cassette:

My bike came with this cassette stock. It shifted ok, but almost immediately I noticed a clunking feeling in the pedals. When I removed the cassette to remove the spoke guard, the small allen screw that holds the cogs together had loosened completely and the whole cassette fell apart. Loctite fixed this issue, but overall for such a heavy cassette I would not purchase this. Spend the extra money and get the PG990.
