SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012

X.0 is the best 9sp rear derailleur available from SRAM. 1:1 actuation is superior by design, staying precise and fluid, while slogging through mud, bouncing off rocks, rutting through roots or wherever you wind up. The Direct Route Technology routes the cable directly to the actuation mechanism for less friction, less effort and less damage. Whether your game is XC race or extreme freeride, youll appreciate its high-end features like a weight-saving carbon fiber outer cage and titanium main spring.
  • Speeds 9/8
  • Material: Aluminum alloy links and forged B-knuckle, High Strength GrilonĀ® P-knuckle, sealed cartridge bearing upper pulley, Aluminum long/medium-cage/composit short cage

  • Inner Cage: 6061- Aluminum
  • Works with SRAM ESP 1:1 ratio shifters only
  • Sealed Bearings

Comments about SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012:

This derailleur seemed great at first. I was impressed with the smooth shifting. After using it a bit on the trails and giving it a little thrashing i have come to the conclusion that it sucks compared to the XT shadow rear derailleur i use on all my other bikes. It is frustrating to remove the rear wheel to say the least (not an issue at all with XT) mostly because i know how easy it is to remove the wheel on my bikes that have the XT derailleur. After a couple falls the derailleur started not shifting accurately, seems maybe the hanger bent, which i have corrected, but i just do not have confidence in the part at all anymore. My XT shadow derailleurs have been through the same and never any issues. XT Shadow is just so much better, there is a reason Shimano parts weigh a little more, its called durability.

Comments about SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012:

This is a really nice derailleur. I used it for several years and it was reliable, durable, and shifted quite nicely under all sorts of conditions. After a while I replaced this derailleur because I got sick of the chain slap. It was a long cage.

Comments about SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012:

I like SRAM. Positive, firm shifts but not for the weak thumbed. Shimano is too soft after using SRAM. I've adjusted both and find SRAM a lot easier to find the sweet spot. My experience with Shimano is that it will either shift well on the high or low cogs but not the full range. I've had issues with some recent X9's so went X.0.

Comments about SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012:

XC RACING USE. MIne just fell apart at 25km into a 100km race=disppointing after I outlayed more than $200 for a carbon flop.
No reason for it to just separate into 2 pieces!.
Looked good, nice and light but not made well enough. My old metal based XO derailleur is now back on with no issues.

Comments about SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur 2012:

I bought this product last year at my LBS and I can't praise it enough! I use it for cross-country and all mountain riding particularly. I set the derailleur up in about 25 minutes and literally have only had to clean and lube it in the last year and a half, no tuning needed! It shifts faster than any other product I've had on my bike and shifts smooth, no matter the conditions. I would highly recommend this product to everyone.
