Comments about Race Face Zero LW Leg Guard 2012:

These are best left to the park or resort and are not ergonomic enough for extended rides, otherwise they provide middle of the road protection for a value pad. I purchased IXS flows to wear for longer ~20 mile AM treks.

Felt great just too small. So if you are a large normally order an extra-large in these.

Comments about Race Face Zero LW Leg Guard 2012:

Really great set of pads, they are comfortable and are just flexible to allow pedalling in. These are perfect for bike parks or something you put on before a run down the mountain. They stay put and do not pinch the back of the legs like other pads I have tried.

Comments about Race Face Zero LW Leg Guard 2012:

These are my first pads so I cant really compare them to any other pads.

I wanted a knee guard that could do it all climbing, descending and dirt jumping. I was split between just knee guards or shin guards. These work perfectly well not too bulky but also just enough protection for your upper shins.

One feature I like about these guards is that you can wear them in two different ways. One can use the sleeve which requires you to take off your shoe. This method allows the guard to keep well in place, but can get sweaty. The other method is not use the sleeve by placing it front of you knee and just use the straps so you dont have to take off your shoes and is dramatically less sweaty.

The guards are hard shell so you can go into rocky areas or dirt jump without worrying about wearing them down.

I have two complaints about these guards

        1. The stitching around the hard shell does not seem very durable, as mine are somewhat stretching out.

        2. Sizing- The guards for me run a little small. I usually wear large everything, but I had to go XL for these guards. I dont think I freakishly large biking calves, but the large guards were very constrictive on my calves.

Comments about Race Face Zero LW Leg Guard 2012:

I use these knee/shin pads mostly for trails and freeride biking. My first pair of pads, i like them a lot but they seem warm and kinda bulky despite the "Light Weight" name but i dont really know how bad other pads are. they Stay in one place on my legs which is a big plus, and cover sensitive areas of knees. not too flashy and crazy looking, but still have a good look. all in all i really like them. but i would try something else next time just so i can experience diversity in different styles.
