Time ATAC MX 4 Pedals

Time created a solution for enduro/ down-hill/ freeriders. The Time ATAC MX 4 pedals feature an oversized bearing surface for greater stability for riding the most extreme terrain. If you’ve ever felt nervous about clipping in on a down- hill course, let the MX 4 bring you peace at mind. The ATAC system allows for easy donning and doffing. The MX 4 pedals feature 5 degrees of angular freedom as well as 6mm of lateral movement. This amount of movement helps to keep knees comfortable, especially during rigorous rides. The MX 4 is a more economical than the MX 6; however, it is just as sturdy.

  • ATAC system (Easy donning and doffing)
  • Weight: 437 grams
  • Excellent stripping due to the self- cleaning concept
  • Oversize Chrome steel axis
  • Composite Body
  • Wide platform
  • Freedom angular (+/- 5 degrees) and lateral (6mm)

Love these pedals
I love these pedals. Ive used different time pedals for a long time and these are my favs for agressive trail riding. I dont have to worry about cliping in when droping in on real sketchy stuff. Work great with Pearl Izumi endro II shoes. No shoe interface issues. It accually seems eiser to clip into than my atac xc8's. The only complaint would be pedal strikes but I guess thats the trade off with a platform pedal.

PROS: Durable, Quality, Easy in and out, Great Feel

CONS: Pedal Strikes

BEST USES: Agressive Trail, Mountain Biking

Great All Mountain Pedal
I purchased these pedals to replace my Time Atac Alums for downhill. The Time Atac Alums are great for cross country, but do not provide enough foot support for a long day of downhill. I stuck with Time because they make a quality product and I wanted to use the same cleats/shoes for cross country and downhill. These pedals are great! They are light, easy to get in/out of, and well constructed. My only complaint would be price. Time products are a little more expensive than the competition.

PROS: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Durable, Easy To Install

CONS: NONE

BEST USES: All Mountain, Downhill, Mountain Biking

Exactly what I wanted.
This is my first clipless set up ever and I'm glad I went with time! I paired them with the fly transition shoe from Jenson. I am a very aggressive mtb rider and the float is perfect! I can go off jumps and whip without unclipping. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because the angle/degree at which you un clip varies slightly from left to right pedal, but... I also havnt adjusted the cletes either to try and fix it. It is so slight that it doesn't bother me. Really small learning curve. Material send to be holding up... Hit a rock hard with pedal and barley left a mark. My close second was the CB platforms but the mud shedding/self cleaning ability of these convinced me.

Overall disappointed
After reading rave reviews about the ATACs being super easy to get in and out of in doggy situations while still offering tremendous support, I decided to replace my Shimano SPDs (with shimano multi release angle cleat. After testing them out I can attest that they feel super stiff and are difficult to get back into. Maybe it's just going to take time to get used to these. But, right now I find myself having to pedal a couple rotations before clipping back in. With the shimano setup I could clip in while stationary balancing. Also where is the tension adjustment?
