Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

running tubeless as a rear tire- no problem install with just a floor pump. Good on rocks roots and loose pine needles- good traction. Rolls good and seems like it'll hold up. Faster than my usual choice of Nevegal's but less hold on off camber wet roots and rocks -but still OK.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

This is my second Ignitor. It's an excellent front specific tire for hardpack, dry dusty trails and rough rocky single track. I have not tried it the wet, or on mud since in CA Sierra we've been in a long drought.

It's very grippy w/ great cornering traction, esp for a bigger / heavier rider. I typically ride a 2.35" on my Turner RFX XL. For me, anything less than 2.3" gets sketchy on turns, on even moderate downhills.

I can't comment on the weight since I rarely compare. I'm a big bruiser at 6'-3" riding an XL bike. Also, for a UST it's quite easy to install. By seating it evenly plus Stans sealant and soapy water at the bead a good floor pump will inflate it. I'd definitely recommend this tire.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

These are my first UST tire -- using them on as the front of my 140mm 26" AM ride. I'm not sure if it's normal for UST tires, but I had a *beast* of a time getting the tires over the wheel to mount. Actually getting them pumped up on my UST wheel was no big deal as I just did it with a floor pump. No burps or anything. Excellent in dry/loose conditions -- when it starts getting muddy they're not near as fun, even at lower pressures -- but then again you really shouldn't be riding on trails when you're collecting mud. :)

I use it on 2.1" version on a semidesertic track. Have a very nice adherence on wet or dry singletracks and I use with 28-30 lb.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

I use the 2.35 version for my front tire on a Shimano XT M776 wheel. It mounted easy and makes a good match to the rim width. I used soapy water to mount the tire and zero sealant (the way God intended tubeless). It has gone two seasons without a puncture or thorn hole! This tread rolls fast and hooks up great in corners at 28 psi. I use a more aggressive tread in the back for better climbing traction.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

These tires stick like nobody's business! I doubed the tread pattern when I first saw it but man waas I wrong. I had the pressures way too high at first for fear of snakebites & obviously they seemed pretty difficult to deal with so dropped the pressures and they rode like a dream. Highly recommended product. MAXXIS is the best.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

I had my first ride on my new Ignitors and was very impressed. I am running the 2.10 rear and the 2.35 front running 32 and 30 pounds respectively. These replace the same size Kenda Nevegals I had. Besides being considerably lighter, they also seem to roll faster and corner better. Again, this is after just one ride but my first impression is very favorable. These are the UST versions and I run them with Stan's sealant. They mounted and inflated easily and seated on my rims with no problems or leaks.

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

Let me start off by saying that I don't think there is a tire that excels in all areas. But this is my favorite tire I have tried over the past 6 years. I have tried 6 kinds of tires over the past 6 years, and these are my favorite for an all around tire. I ride in dry, dusty Utah where the trails are usually loose over hardpack. I encounter Rock Gardens, stream crossings followed by a steep slippery Acsents, Loose over Hardpack, LONG STEEP Ascents, and "moon dust' conditions all on the same ride. I would say this tire does everything sort of well but not excellent. But let's be honest, is there a tire out there that climbs well and descends well on every condition? It doesn't corner as well a Nevegals, but the Ignitors are much faster on the climbs with less rolling resistance. They aren't super in loose over hardpack but do better than the Specialized Roll X's or Revolutions. Again this is right in the middle of all of those. They aren't race tires, but they don't have large knobs to push up the hill either. It is a good compromise to many tires. I put in 31 psi in the rear and 30 in the front. I weight about 210 prior to suiting up. I could probably get way with running a bit less air pressure but I tend to stay on the safe side of things. Again these are the 2.35's. They measure smaller than a Nevegal 2.10. They don't have that cool burley appearance the Nevegals have. I have heard that the Ignitors on the front with a crossmark on the back is a good combo, but I have yet to try that. These are great for me, since they work fairly well in all conditions and allow me to only seat my tires once a year with Stans. I would buy them again!

Comments about Maxxis Ignitor 26" UST Tubeless Tire:

In fifteen years of hard riding I just about will not run anything else for a do it all mountain tire. Good corning/side hill, climbing, braking, mud, loose dirt on top of hard dirt and rock traction. Light weight but still on a little sidewall toughness, nothing worse ripping a sidewall nicking a rock or doing a drift around a turn. And for the gram counters like me wanting the bigger 2.35 but hate the weight. This setup with the rim strip, stans and the 2.35 is lighter than most all the 2.35’s with tube weight.
