Looks good, I got this to replace the old square tapered cranks on my sons bike. He will outgrow his current bike soon so I didn't want to spend too much upgrading it. These cranks are light enough, and seem strong, I wish they were offered in 170mm. I almost feel like giving them a bad review, so they will be available next time I need them!

will upgrade soon

they ride good until under load, out of the saddle or pushing a big gear they seem to flex to the point that the chain hits the frt deraileur.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

My Trek 950 is over 20 years old and the Deore LX crankset needed new chainrings, but luckily I stumbled into this great deal. It was cheaper to buy this whole new crankset/bottom bracket from JensonUSA. (Better deal than those notorious sells-everything websites....you know who they are....)

Nice quality for the price, seems at least as stiff as the LX. Not only that, but my old legs appreciate the smaller bolt circle quite a bit. I found a 20 tooth stainless granny online, expected I'd have to do a little filing on the mounting posts to prevent chain skipping, but I was happy to find out it works great on this crank without any modification. Now I can climb hills until I fall over backwards on my head.

To top it off I didn't need to buy yet another expensive tool that I might never need again. The BB installed well enough with an old Park HCW12 spanner wrench. 73mm BB, just the one spacer on the drive side (when all else fails, read the instructions), worked like a charm, chainline was just right.

Listed as a 10-speed crank, I was a little concerned about the ring spacing vs. my 8-speed setup, but my concern was unfounded. True drop-in replacement, no diddling with spacers necessary.

As others have noted, even the instruction manual informs of a break-in period concerning BB seal friction, however mine was pretty good right off the bat. It seems not to have any more friction than the old square-taper BB it replaced.

If you're a recreational/intermediate rider, this is all the crankset you need. Buy one, you'll like it, before they're all gone.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

My factory cranks, bottom bracket, and chain rings were worn out and this was an awesome replacement. They are very smooth and quiet and I have not experienced any bending or noise from them. I could not be happier with them as an everyday crank for someone who does not ride extremely hard.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

Ordered this the night of 8/7/14, received today 8/9/14. Can you say FAST SHIPPING?! I just installed this on a 2003 Specialized Epic Disc and couldn't be happier. Now, I can't comment on how it rides or it's durability as I have yet to ride the bike as I am still in the process of building. BUT, I will comment on first impressions and feel. For $59 this is a steal! Very nice quality cranks and BB. I purchased the 22-32 w/bashring option and it weighed in on my scale at 840g, without the BB. The bash weighs a bit and the chain rings are quite hefty so you can lose some weight by replacing those items. I am setting this crank up as a SS. The weight on this crankset isn't bad, especially at this price point, but it isn't great. It's about middle of the road as far as weight goes. MAKE SURE TO READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

Raceface makes some great products and this crank set is one of them. For the money I do not think there is a better crank set on the market. The only down side is the size. The 175 fit me perfectly but shorter riders may find the arms too long.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

Bought this to replace my Shimano crankset after I wrecked the crankarm. Only wanted a single chainring crankset, so I removed both chain rings and bashguard and fitted my own chainring. I ride AM with boulders/drops/jumps/dh. Crankset has held up fine with no 0 give. It's solid and strong.

this is my 3rd OE raceface crank-set from jenson.
sure its not lightest high tech carbon cheese. but does nice job for my urban assault wagons. bottom bearings hold up well even to road salt and freezing temps. shrugs off drunken curb smacks. I'm running this with just the middle 32 ramped and pinned ring/bash guard. n/jump stop and 10 speed kmc chain on 1x10 and have no chain drops.

I have one of these on my bike and I bought another for a spare hardtail. I think this is the bast crankset you can buy for the money. It is solid, lighter than most of the cranks it will be replacing and it just works. The stock bash guard works like a champ. Looks good too.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

              My setup is a Gary Fisher X-cal 29er 21.5" frame 175mm crankset (I'm 6'3", 230 lbs).

This was an upgrade from my old crankset with ISIS BB. I decided it was time for something with outboard bearings. This crankset was recommended to me and then I found it on Jenson for such a great price. I didn't care that it was a 2010 model. It installed easily and works to 68 to 73mm widths (has three plastic spacers). This is nice since now I need to replace my frame which may require a 73mm BB. It was a little tricky getting the right chain-line I wanted with my current frame (68mm BB) and crankset with 22/32/bash guard. I'm still using my 3 position shifter. I had to play around with the BB spacers and derailleur to get something that would allow me the desired gear combinations. Another notable thing is that after install, the crankset do not spin very freely, but that is normal until the seals break-in (it's explained in the directions...yes, I read them). Overall, the crankset seems very durable and light enough (I'm not a racer, but I like high performance).
