ESI Chunky 32mm Grips

Ideal for riders looking for the maximum in shock absorption. Unlike other grips, these are made of silicone, so theyre grippy, whether wet or dry, they stick to the bar (no lock-ons or bread ties needed) and withstand extreme temperatures and exposure to the elements.

  • Just use a little Windex or rubbing alchohol to install
  • UV Resistant
  • Conforms to your hands for maximum grip

After trying and liking a set of Serfas silicone grips and reading about how much better the ESI versions were, I decided to try a set of the Racer's Edge grips. I did find them better, but a little thin, so on to the chunky ESIs. They're great. Not too thick, not too thin, firm yet forgiving, and with a grippier texture than the Serfas version. Not sure if they're worth the premium over the Serfas considering the potential for crash damage and replacement value, but whatever. If lock ons are too hard and you're concerned about your grips twisting, these are worth a go.

Pay attention to aligning the thick side up during install and use rubbing alcohol and you're good.

These grips are great once you get them on, but getting them on is literally impossible. I drenched the inside of the grips and my handlebars with rubbing alcohol, as instructed, and it was impossible to slide the grip on completely. I ended up having to cut the grip off because it wouldn't even come off either. If you're going to get these, make sure you really know what you're doing, otherwise let your local bike shop do it.

This is the third pair I've purchased and I can't think of anything better. Great grip, lightweight, firm but simultaneously comfy, and good width. My hands are pretty average in size and these are just right.

    Excellent Grip

Comments about ESI Chunky 32mm Grips:

Use these on both my mountain bikes. I ride many endurance events and these grips help keep my hands from hurting. The only downside is that the ends are easily torn or split if you clip a tree or crash. Mine do not twist on the bar.

Shock absorption is that good with these grips, they almost substitute the feel of a carbon bar vs an aluminium bar

Comments about ESI Chunky 32mm Grips:

My hands fall asleep all the time while riding. Ergo grip don't help. So I swapped the old grips out for these Chunky grips the day before a 100 mile race and was immediately pleased with the comfort of these grips. I had less issues with my hands and they withstood the all day abuse of the endurance race. I will be putting these grips on my new 29er.

They are pretty good...you have to wear gloves though because once you start sweating they become slippery. I would prefer the extra chunky but wish they came in additional colors instead of black.

A bit difficult to tell which part is the thicker section once you start to install it on the bar. It does not slide on easily even with the liberal use of alcohol as specified in the instructions.

I have bought 8 pairs of these grips and love everyone of them. They offer excellent grip, even in the rain. Plus they offer extra padding for your hands. Seems like they absorb some of the jolts making it easier on your wrists.
