Clip in, Clip out
Pros:

Good, quality pedals. They are durable, and have taken quite a few big rocks and other miscellany. They turn smoothly after about 2500 miles with minimal maintenance. I thoroughly enjoy the ample cage on the pedal, even when clipped in, as it reduces pressure on the ball of my foot. I have had no issues clipping in after getting used to them, and keep one side on light tension, the other on heavy.

Cons:
The axle seal weeps grease with temperature changes. You'll need to clean it after almost every ride. The cage gets in the way of general cleaning of the pedal without some really small brushes

Bottom Line:

I would highly recommend this pedal for general use. While it lacks the open design of its higher-end cousins, it is a good, affordable starting point for a clipless pedal.

PROS: Affordable, Adaptable, Durable

CONS: Difficult to clean

BEST USES: Technical, Trail use, Commuting

I think these pedals...
I think these pedals are super. I like the way I can use my bike shoes for long rides and commutes or sneakers for a quick ride to the store. Very versatile and they do a good job. I'm happy--especially because I got a super deal on these pedals.

Great pedals!
These pedals are for my 8 year old sons BMX race bike. These are his first set of clipless pedals so I wanted to get him a set with somewhat of a platform. After an adjustment or two he can clip in and out with confidence and his start speed off of the gate is already starting to improve!

PROS: Good Platform, Dual Sided Entry, Increases Pedaling Efficiency

These pedals are...
These pedals are well worth the money, which really isn't a lot compared to what else is out there in this price range. They work great with clipless shoes, and tolerably well with normal shoes. I wouldn't go on any long rides with normal shoes, but a short 5-10 mile ride is perfectly comfortable. These sure can take a beating, and have stood up to years of abuse in my experience, without even taking proper care of them. Thinking about getting another set for my road bike even...

Good for Riders New to Clipless
I bought these for my wifes new MTB. We just started riding again after a two year hiatus. She used to use Shimano M520 pedals which she stuggled getting in and out of even with the tension screws all the way backed out. She noticed right away that the M424's are easier for her to get into and said that she liked these pedals better because even if she can't get "clipped in" right away, her feet are still fully supported by the platform. This is especially important when sarting from a complete stop at the top of a bumpy descent. The pedals are a little heavy and I question their durability, but they are perfect for a rider new to mountain biking and to clipless pedals. Oh, and they are a great price.

PROS: Stable platform, Easy in and out

CONS: Durability questionable, A little Heavy

BEST USES: Weekend warriors, Riders new to clipless

Great entry level clipless pedal
My first set of clipless pedals they are easy to adjust and easy to get in and out of. I would definitely recommend. They aren't the top of the line pedal but your not paying a top of the line price. And nothing but good things to say about Jenson I've ordered several different times from them and always happy with the service provided.

PROS: Great price, Easy to use

CONS: none

Great utility
a durable SPD pedal that doubles as a platform pedal for short trips where clipping in is not necessary. I run these pedals on my commuting bike which I also use for errands. If I am just running to the hardware or grocery store I will just wear tennis shoes but can clip in when I ride to work. If you run SPDs and want the flexibility of a platform/clip in pedal in one at a good price point. I highly recommend this pedal

PROS: Flexable, Durable

Good pedal for the money
Got these a while back to try a platform/clipless hybrid for my XC ride. After a couple years of use going back and forth with M540s I can't say I get a lot of extra stability from the platform. These are still great SPD pedals for the price and have held up to some smashing. I'm not sure the platform cage offers much more than a weight gain for the more advanced XC/trail rider.

PROS: Reliable Entry/Exit, Dual Sided Entry

CONS: Heavy
