GT Bikes GTR Carbon Team 2013

As part of GT’s Race tuned lineup, the GT GTR Carbon Team road bike is as determined to win as you are, so get ready to climb to the top of the podium! Using GT’s proprietary FOC carbon fiber fabrication process to construct the frame, the GT GTR Carbon Team offers little to no flex, keeping power transfer and responsiveness at its best. FOC Ultra takes a minimalist approach to carbon fabrication by using the fewest layers of high-modulus carbon possible, to achieve a stiff, reliable, snappy ride, while keeping weight to a bare minimum.

The GTR Carbon Team comes equipped with Shimano’s highly sought after Dura-Ace 9000 component system that brings a flawless blend of control, comfort, and functionality, for the highest performing outfit offered by Shimano. The Dura-Ace 9000 component arrangement includes both the front and rear derailleurs, shifters, chain, cassette and even the WH9000 carbon/alloy composite wheelset.

With Shimano Dura-Ace clinging itself to a machine such as the GTR Carbon Team bike, you might be hard pressed to find equal excitement elsewhere on the bike. That is until you notice the FSA SL-K compact crankset! The FSA SL-K crankset features hollow carbon arms with UD Carbon finish for an unparallel stiffness to weight ratio. The Forged AL7050 BB30 spindle provides a sturdy platform for transferring power and mashing. The compact crank arrangement is ideal for high-cadence riders who are easily seduced by roads that slope skyward.

The Ritchey WCS Carbon Curve handlebar, and WCS CNC alloy stem offer a stiff, sturdy, lightweight front end, while the legendary Fizik Arione saddle keeps your backend riding comfortable and racing strong.

With a lively and fast reacting monocoque carbon frame, a top-tier drivetrain, and a race-optimized build, the GTR Carbon Team is without question for those who like to make the competition suffer by simply going faster.

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Bikes GTR Carbon Team Bike 2013:

This compares well to my Roubaix for ride comfort and my Stelvio for geometry. I set this up like the fitted Roubaix except for the handlebar drop. This drop is 3" and there is no extra fork to adjust the stem up. The only option is to flip the stem up or purchase another with additional rise. So far this has only had the affect of putting slightly more weight on my wrists. It feels very stable on fast descents and is not twitchy at all. This is a very competent bike for anyone looking to ride various conditions. Replace 3 things and ride (seat, bar tape, brakes).

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Bikes GTR Carbon Team Bike 2013:

I use this for training and event racing. Not many reviews out there on GT road bikes but this is my second. frame is light and stiff yet comfortable. Rumors that made by Merida but GT in same group as cannonade and frame made in Taiwan. The rear triangle is small but the frame is responsive and it feels agile if not a bit light on turns. Power translates well into speed and you can keep it there. Medium weighs 15.5 lbs. the dura ace groupset is slick and light and the Fsa carbon lite cranks fit in well - super lite. The DA c24 wheels are special, light and fast and Ritchey's cockpit is sweet. Only weak component is the tetktro brakes which work fine but are heavy and ugly. I switched them for the light functional SRAM Rivals. I also switched the tires for Michelin pro 3s and added look easy pedals to get it in at 15.5lb all in. overall this is a great deal it does everything you need without fuss. You can ride it and enjoy it.
