If you use it correctly, this pump is amazing. Everyone I've met who've had problems didn't twist the head 90 deg to lock the head on the valve. Once the head is twisted 90 deg. it is fantastic. Only mini pump that I can get road tires to 120 with easily. The high/low pressure knob works great. In low pressure, fills a MTB tire quickly. If this isn't working for you, read the instructions on how to twist and lock the head on the valve. I also have the smaller mini one for tucking in my shirt pocket; bigger one in my water pack, smaller one in my jersey when going light.

This is a terrible product. The first time i used the pump the rubber collar in the pump that is supposed to seal on the valve was too small. The fit was so tight the rubber collar got stuck on the valve and would not come off. I had to use pliers to pull the rubber gasket off the valve and ended up ripping my tube at the valve stem. Luckily i thought to try the pump before i really needed on the trail.

I am sure some people have had a great experience with this pump. My thought is quality control on this product is very poor so it is a 50/50 shot on whether you will get a good pump. Some of the plastic pieces on the pump had already started to fall off when i unboxed it.

Like others have said in reviews the instructions are non existent. I watched an online video to make sure i was using it correctly and the still fell apart.

My advice, pay a little extra for a better pump. If you buy this one you are taking a big chance on throwing your money away.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Power Pump Alloy:

I can see why this pump has received mixed reviews. It is very effective when it is functioning the way it is intended to. Although it isn't reliable in that it seems hell-bent at times to not do what it is meant to. If I was racing I would not bring this pump. If I had time and patience, fine, but if I were in a hurry-I would find something more user friendly. My pumps pressure indicator didn't want to work fresh out of the package. Bit of a bummer but life goes on.

This is a great mini pump. The best that I have ever used.
    Very well build
I agree with some of the reviewes that there are no clear intructions. If you take a few minutes to figureout how it works (before you go on a trail) it will be the best pump.
I would recomend it to everybody.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Power Pump Alloy:

First of all, it takes a while to figure out how this thing works. But the main problem is that it leaks no matter how you try to adjust it to the valve. That, added to the impractical handle design makes it is impossible to keep inflating past a certain pressure- it leaks at a higher rate than you can pump air into. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk.

It does what it says and it says what it does... It "Power PUMPS". I've had no issues pumping 26x2.4 tires schraeder or presta. This pump is well built with strong materials, it has smooth action high pressure or high volume and the best thing is I'm saving $$$ on my CO2 bill. I love it, I think is going to stay in my camel bag for years to come.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Power Pump Alloy:

There are no instructions on how to use this unusual pump. It is not intuitive at all. The cryptic pictures on the packaging do not help much in figuring out how to operate the pump. It does not stay attached very well when used on a Presta valve. It is quite hard to pump in one setting, and is quite hard to build pressure in the other setting. Fail.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Power Pump Alloy:

I had this pump for over 4 years. It's a bit long but it sure inflates tires fast. Once in a while after inflating past 80 psi, the internal check valve seal gets hung up. No worries, I disassemble it on the spot and free up the rubber flapper and continue on. I seen smaller pumps that have stroke life spans. I'm glad I have this pump, it saved me and fellow riders a few times. By the way, once u lubricate the air chamber seals, the pump Inflates tires a lot faster and stays cooler.
