The Focus Izalco Ergoride takes the Izalco race geometry and transforms it into an endurance machine, by giving the frame a longer headtube and sharply sloping top tube, for a more casual upright sitting position, and a damping effect that absorbs road vibration, optimizing for centuries, touring and long-distance road races. The tapered headtube features integrated shift and brake cables for reduced weight and less obstructions. The Izalco Ergoride utilizes a BB30 bottom bracket which further minimizes weight, while the oversize increases rigidity and torsional stiffness for maximum power transfer.
Where the Izalco Ergoride frame really shines is at the back end, with its incredibly thin seatstays. This is achieved as the top tube thins from its bulky front end to an ovalized diameter of less than an inch at the seat tube junction, resulting in exceedingly thin seatstays. These slimmed seatstays are then flattened, which allows the full-carbon rear to flex, permitting loads of comfort. The chainstays start out deep at the bottom bracket before tapering into a flattened geometry as it runs toward the rear drop outs. This feature also tames road vibration to enhance the overall comfort of this ride.
Complimenting the superior comfort of the intensively designed Izalco Ergoride 1.0, is the SRAM Red group set. SRAM Red offers flawless shifting and optimized ergonomics, while remaining insanely lightweight. The simplicity and genuine innovation of SRAM Red graces the Izalco Ergoride 1.0 with unmatched performance, and it looks handsome doing so. The Ksyrium Elite wheels achieve weight savings, handling and stiffness, matched by only a handful of other aluminum wheelsets. The Focus Izalco Ergoride 1.0 spews comfort without skimping on performance, making it a solid horse for any rider who looks to achieve high-mileage, but also may find themselves in the heat of a race from time to time.
