SE Filth Flyer

Mixing classic-old school looks with modern-day geometry, the Filth Flyer features a 6061 Aluminum frame with an internally machined headtube and box chainstays, offering a solid dirt jumping platform that rides as good at the park as it does on shortcut-trails on the way home. The Marzocchi Dirt Jumper 3 suspension fork includes 100mm of travel and a 20mm Through Axle for catching big air and ensuring a graceful landing soon after. The Hayes Stroker Ryde hydraulic disc brake system, provides confident braking for superior control, ensuring you hit those dirt ramps and banked turns just right. The Alex FR-32 rims are laced to SE sealed bearing hubs by stainless steel spokes, making for one resilient wheelset that is willing and able to take a beating. The SRAM X7 rear derailleur and trigger shifters are versatile and highly capable, while holding to a friendly price point. Jump (no pun intended) atop the SE Filth Flyer and join the legions of riders and racers who’ve created and contributed to the SE BMX tradition. Do yourself a favor and become a part of the SE bikes folklore!

Comments about Se Bikes Filth Flyer Bike 2009:

I use this bike as my freeride hard tail. The bike is a bit on the heavy side but not too bad. The truvativ cranks are absolute junk. I finally had to loctite them to keep the crank arms on. The chainguide is the noiseiest ive ever had.... it does keep the chain on though. The hayes stroker brakes are pretty much junk too. Loud and the pads wear fast. I do like the marzocchi Dj 3 for the type of riding I do. After I tookthe wheels to my LBS and had them actually trued, they have been great. At 6"2 the frame geo is where this bike really shines for me. All in all not a bad entry level ride and parts are decent enough that you can ride as you save up for upgrades.

Comments about Se Bikes Filth Flyer Bike 2009:

If you're looking for light, nimble, cross-country, or free-ride, look for a different bike in a different price range. If you're looking for a bomb proof bike to ride groomed trails with jumps, a few gears to make your local ride more bearable, or grew up on a BMX bike, this bike is definitely for you. I found Jenson through the SE website, checking different retailers, looking for a deal on Om Flyers, and just couldn't be happier that I purchased this bike instead. It's heavier and more "relaxed" (geometrically) than I'm used to (coming from a BMX background) ,but perfect for the purpose it serves. I live in the "Russian River" area of Sonoma County, Ca., which has hills, rain, and considerable distances between populated areas, so a single gear bike with 1 rim brake just isn't as practical. But, I'm just not ready to give up on "catching air" yet. I can't ride without bunny-hopping curbs, hitting whatever jumps I can find while "commuting", ect. So a road bike or fixed gear just wouldn't work for me. The assembly was a little "off". The fork was on backwards, the decals had air bubbles, their was some greasy prints, and some parts had to be disassembled, lubricated, and reassembled, but man, was Jenson FAST! My wife asked if I "overnighted" it. This is the "over haul" season in my family; when our bikes get stripped, cleaned, rebuilt, and worn out parts upgraded. On the day I placed this order, I also ordered parts from several other places. When it arrived I decided the one thing I would change on it was the tires, and ordered some intense micro knobbys (from Jenson). It hasn't even been a week (since I ordered the bike) and they're already on. Jenson shipped me two orders before anyone else could get one here. At this price, the frame (from a BMX icon), fork and components, are a great value.

Comments about Se Bikes Filth Flyer Bike 2009:

I started shopping for a mountain bike that was close as possible to a 20 inch BMX bike in geometry at least the frame anywayI've been racing BMX bikes for years and decided I wanted to try the free ride dirt jumping scene. I was looking for a good free ride or dirt jumping mountain bike this SE filth flyer fits the bill in every aspect! The components are great although not top-of-the-line but for the price paid it is exceptionally well outfitted. The quick shipping and exceptional customer service from Jenson USA will have me as a customer for many more purchases

Comments about Se Bikes Filth Flyer Bike 2009:

I like the frame, although the head tube may be too relaxed for some people, especially if you add a longer travel fork (120mm or more.) I took the dj3 off immediately and swapped in a marzocchi 55. I think a larger front rotor may be in store as well. I chose this bike since I'm not a super hard core dirt jump or street guy, and I still like the casual 5 or so mile trail ride. I like the wheel and hub set, and the shifting components seem nice. The hayes brakes work well and I have no real complaints. The seat is ok for what it is intended for, plus I like the pivotal style seat post. All in all I'm happy with it.
