Fuji Outland 29 2.0 Bike 2012

Summiting hills and mountain tops is all a part of the joy and seduction of mountain biking. Therefore, it is rather fitting that when Fuji was founded in 1899 , it was named after Mount Fuji, a Japanese symbol of strength and endurance, and one of the most iconic and Majestic mountain peaks in the world. With that said, Fuji is a brand that believes in the core characteristics in which cycling represents; strength, endurance, challenge, and triumph. The same can be said about their bikes.

The 2012 Outland 29 2.0 is held together with the A6-SL alloy frame, making it incredibly durable. The hydroformed top and down tube provide a more upright geometry for more comfort and rider endurance, while shaving off valuable weight. The versatile Shimano Deore front derailleur and Deore Rapid Fire shifters contain the same key functions as the its Deore XT big brother, but at a lower cost, while making shifting quick and efficient. However, the Outland 29 2.0 does not compromise where it counts, as it includes a sleek Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur. The Shimano Deore 24/32/42T crankset, Shimano Press-Fit bottom bracket, and Shimano Deore 11-36 cassette provide a drivetrain with many gear options and capabilities, such as trucking up steep grades or pinning across an open range.

The Fuji Outland 29 2.0 comes complete with full suspension courtesy of RockShox. In the rear you have RockShox Ario R and up front you have the RockShox Recon Silver TK Solo Air 29 fork with 100mm of travel and remote lockout, giving you the ability to adjust the responsiveness of the bike according to the terrain. The oval M250 flat handle bar is nice and wide at 710mm, giving you the ability to toss your bike from side to side when clawing up those relentless switchbacks, or the ability to be nimble on those large 29” wheels when the trail gets technical.

The Fuji Outland 29 2.0 2012 is a capable bike loaded with many possibilities, and will be certain to conquer whatever terrain you may encounter. The Outland 29 2.0 is strong and endurance proven, that will be sure to meet the challenge and triumph!

Comments about Fuji Outland 29 2.0 Bike 2012:

This bike is an excellent value! I have loved everything about this bike except the seat. I would imagine they could use this saddle for torture techniques! At 6'4", the XL makes me lean over quite a bit as well, but I have adjusted to it for now Looking for riser bars to help with the fitting.

If you are looking at upgrading to a fs bike, this is a good transition with quality components that won't make you take out a loan.

Comments about Fuji Outland 29 2.0 Bike 2012:

This is my first fs bike and needed a little getting used to. My previous bike was the Fuji Nevada - essentially the same bike except a hardtail. I expected the two to fit similar but they were much different. At first I was nervous because it was not as comfortable, but now that I have found the sweet spot I cannot get enough of this bike. The remote lockout on the forks is amazingly useful, the gears shift super quick, and this thing eats up anything I have ridden so far including smaller drops (4'-6'), technical rocks, and climbs. I would recommend this bike to anyone- especially at this price. It is a great opportunity to move up to a fs and get a peek at what they're all about before spending $3k+. The only thing that I will need to do to this bike is upgrade the suspension at some point. I am 215lb and ride aggressively and it is sometimes easy to bottom out the suspension. However the components on the bike now are definitely functional.

Bottom line: amazing bike and fantastic price.

The bike is great in rough and Ricky conditions. The 29 inch wheels really move through the terrain with ease. This is the first mountain bike I have ever owned, and I rode my first mountain trail with this bike, and I enjoyed every second.
