Kenda Nevegal Pro 26" DTC Tire

Kenda Nevegal Pro 26" DTC Tire

The Kenda Nevegal Pro is the ultimate tire for varied terrain as it eats rocks and hard packed dirt for breakfast. The Nevegal Pro's ramped front knobs increase speed while retaining grip for climbs. The Dual Tread Compound (DTC) is the ultimate tread compound. In the center is Kenda’s L3R PRO compound, which is fast rolling, while the cornering knobs have STICK-E compound which gives you cornering control. It's no wonder why the Nevegal Pro has consistently been voted a winner by Mountain Bike Action Magazine!

Excellent Tire
Not much to add to the Nevegal's excellent reputation for quality and performance, except this: DTC has definitely less grip than Stick-E tires. That is by design, but it is more noticeable than you think. That's a good thing if you want less rolling resistance, but don't go for DTC if you expect less rolling resistance without sacrificing grip. The DTC is an excellent all around tire, but this is achieved through compromise.

Totally increased traction
Going with better rubber, better tread, and wider tires is SWEET!! These were recommended to me by my riding buddy and I wished I would have switched a year or two ago.

They're Popular for a Reason
I went from Small Block 8s to Nevegals (2.35), and the difference was tremendous. Great cornering, sheds mud fairly well, and is confidence-building for beginning to novice riders who have stuck with lesser stock tires. Of course rolling resistance is going to be compromised with this tire (just look at it!), but while riding a technical trail at only 10-12 Km/h I'd rather feel in control. Be wary of your tire pressure with these, too low and they are prone to pinch flats.

PROS: Traction For Days, More Traction, Traction, price, Versatility

CONS: Rolling resistance, Road noise, Weight

BEST USES: Various Conditions, XC

"The One" tire
If you are looking for "The One" tire, this is it. This tread design really is one of the most optimal out there. It performs especially well in dry hardpack conditions and even some mud, and I generally only notice slippage on wet hardpack, which is normal. Great all around tire. I use these and will continue to use these tires for as long as they are around.

PROS: Proven tread design, Diverse use

CONS: none

BEST USES: Am, XC

Nevegal is a great tire
I have been on these exact tires for about a year they work great with thorn resistant tubes I never get flats where as with all previous combos I tried previous would get punctures these have a great tread too but I do like my rear tire on opposite rotation direction as suggested check that out you'll appreciate it and buy these tires they work good on sand and mud and street

PROS: Folding, Tough, Long Tire Life, Tread, Durable

CONS: none

Basically the Best
Pretty much the best mountain bike tire out there. I wish I could give 4.5 stars, as I would prefer to be able to convert these to tubeless (without spending days on end waiting for the sidewalls to seal). But, I decided to round up and give them the full 5 stars. Paired with a Small Block 8 in the back, the Nevegal give excellent bite without too much rolling resistance. With a tire this big, it's not going to be a light-weight tire, but overall, on a 2010 Stumpjumper FSR, this is a great tire.

I've been riding these tires for years and I still feel they work great.
