I've been using Candy 1 pedals on my two bikes for 2-3 years and I like them very much. I have never used another brand of clipless pedals so I can't compare. I decided to upgrade to Candy 2 pedals for mostly aesthetic reasons; I upgraded both bikes and it didn't hurt that they are orange and silver, the same two colors the Candy 2's come in.
I don't know if they are functionally any better, but the looks of the aluminum over the plastic platforms is much nicer.
At first, I couldn't get into the pedal, but I installed the cleat shim and it worked great. Initially, they were stiff on entry/exit, but after a couple weeks of riding, they have smoothed out to what I am used to.
I'm very happy with these pedals.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Candy 2 Pedals:

I've used eggbeaters for many years for their multiple-sided entry and mud-shedding ability. The Candy Pedals have those same features and also have a bit of platform that helps reduce strain on the sole of the foot by increasing contact surface area. The platform also allows for putting more "English" on the pedals for maneuvering.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Candy 2 Pedals:

I started using candy c's back in 2007 and just decided to upgrade. I like the aluminum pedal body and the orange pops with my bike. Looks aside, they are very smooth and engage more crisply and hold tighter than my old set. Being rebuildable, I plan to keep them a long time and expect them to go the distance. The quality seems to be there.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Candy 2 Pedals:

Candy 2's are great, I usually get 3-4 heavy seasons out of them before doing a rebuild. I have them on all my bikes. sturdier than the candy 1's, heavier than the eggbeaters. Not much platform for unclipping, but they work in a pinch.

I always use candy pedals and they never let me down. Best pedaling platform, they keep you locked in tight, and definitely the best color choices. I will only use crank brothers for the rest of my pedaling days.
