Not really ideal for riding in Canada cooler conditions. I went for a ride around 0 degrees and my hands were frozen within 10-15 minutes. I brought cotton gloves just in case and put them on underneath. It was a tight squeeze getting cotton gloves underneath so I might just use these gloves for warmer rides when it's at least 5 degrees out.

These gloves look really cool and I wouldn't want to wear gloves overtop. They're comfortable and the padding feels good too. I would say the sizing is just a tad small and if you don't know what size to get, get the next size up.

I cycle/train commute to work daily and needed a glove appropriate for California weather. Giro Monaco LF gloves are great for their breathability and light weight. They pack small and look good doing it all, from commuting to my weekend rides. The hook and loop wrist closure is also nice to have and, surprisingly, hard to find on this type of glove. I mostly wear gloves to save my hands in case of a fall and the Monaco's supple Pittards leather and generous padding I imagine will protect nicely.

My gripes are mainly that the seam stitching is not very well done. I can see a few thread ends on the outside and believe these will be the source of their demise. Right out of the box, I even had to flip a glove inside out and sew up a slightly opened seam on one of the fingers and properly reinforce it... I didn't want to wait for the warranty process. Even with strong seam stitches, the fabric is so light, I predict it will begin to pull apart with time. That's just a compromise you make with lighter materials. For my use, I think they'll be ok. I don't compete or ride too, too aggressively.

For the price I paid (using Jenson's great price-matching), I can live with a couple cons. The Giro Monaco gloves fit my needs well. You could say, like a glove. Hardy har har.

Comments about Giro Monaco LF Glove 2012:

These gloves have served well at protecting my hands but the stitch pattern in the thumb is bad.
A seam or something puts a lot of pressure on the top of my thumb. Thought it was just my hand but I had a friend with another pair of giro gloves with a similar complaint. Hasn't stopped me from using them but it's a definite drawback.

I used these in temperatures in the range of 30s and they stood the cold and winds pretty well.
In case temperatures lower you could use these with few hand warmers and stay totally warm.
            Great fits and comfy material.

Gloves fit a little small. I use the gloves mountain biking. I have gone on 3 rides and the stitching is coming apart where the cloth is sewn to the leather palm. I can be easily sew it back together. I love the padding and leather palm so I plan to fix it and keep using them.
