Comments about Continental Sprinter Tubular Tire:
I purchased a pair of these to mount on a pair of Reynolds Attack tubulars. I use them primarily as race wheels, but will pull them out for a fast training ride, or when the ride will include a great deal of climbing/descending.
So far, I have no real regrets. I stretched each tire for two days before mounting - this is critical, as they are VERY snug. Gluing them up was messier than usual, likely due to the tight tire/rim interface.
They ride well, but even stretching when gluing is critical - I've had to re-glue each to minimize lumpiness. There's still a bit of hop, but it's lost in the road noise
Ride is incredible (as expected). Not quite Corsa CX quality, but it beats any clincher I've ever ridden. Cornering is likewise amazing - I keep finding myself pushing beyond the point where my old Pro3 Race clinchers would start to slide.
Wear has been a non-issue, but I have less than 1000 miles on them thus far. I've had no punctures (that I'm aware of - I have 1oz of Stan's in each), and only a few minor cuts on the tread.
All said, I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a good set of race tubies, but still wants to take them out on training rides.
