Awesome lever at great price

Comments about Shimano Tiagra/Sora Lever R400:

This is a great lever if you don't want/need/have STI levers. It's spring loaded and constructed very solidly. The mechanism that clamps it to the bars is especially well built. The lever action is very very smooth and if you know what you're doing install is a breeze. This lever kit DOES COME WITH CABLES. Nothing top shelf but Shimano branded cables, housings and stops.

Comments about Shimano Tiagra/Sora Lever R400:

Short and skinny:I ditched STI, went back to bar end shifters (see my review of Shimano 8spd bar end shifters). These are the brake levers I went with. I chose them because they fit most people's hands perfectly, and work flawlessly. What else could you want?
Well, the plastic around the lever does look plasticky, but it seems to be holding up....

    Best Uses

    • Road Touring Commuter

Comments about Shimano Tiagra/Sora Lever R400:

Wanted a brake lever to use on a commuter/touring bike I built with bar-end shifters. These work great with a set of canti-brakes. Soft rubber hoods are comfortable on longer rides.
