GT Bikes Sensor 9R Elite Bike 2013

Photo is for illustration purposes only. You will be shipped a complete bike with the components listed below.

Since day one GT has been no stranger to the rugged, untamed world of mountain biking. As an industry leader in technology, GT has made a name for itself by consistently setting the standards by which the competition obeys. GT Bicycles have been at the forefront of success in the World’s top mountain biking events, such as the 2013 World Cup at Fort William and Val di Sole, where Rachel and Gee Atherton took double victories at both (back to back) events. GT does not only strive for success in the Elite level of racing, but at all levels and in all disciplines for all riders. Take a gander at the 2013 Trail Sensor collection, and you’ll be quick to notice this to be true.

Set out on a weeklong trail adventure atop the 2013 Sensor 9R Elite, the rugged trail-conquering machine! GT has laid the foundation for the Sensor 9R Elite with the GT Speed Metal™ Aluminum Frame with a 120mm Travel Independent Drivetrain™ suspension system that operates free of the drivetrain to keep the focus exclusively on its intended function. The GT Speed Metal™ Frame also features Triple Triangle™ to extend the frame life and maximize stiffness in the rear triangle for a faster, more reactive ride. The Sensor 9R Elite is outfitted with a RockShox Recon Silver TK 29 Solo Air up front and a Fox Racing Shox Float CTD SV in the rear, providing over four and a half inches of travel throughout for a happy combination of trail absorption and responsiveness.

With leisure riders in mind, GT wanted to provide a budget-friendly setup that soars in performance, to ensure a comfortable, reliable ride for pure enjoyment during long expeditions out on the trails. With that said, the Sensor 9R Elite comes outfitted with Shimano Deore front and rear derailleurs and shifters, which inherit key functions of the more pricey Deore XT big brother. To increase overall efficiency and capacity of the drivetrain, the Sensor 9R Elite comes with an FSA Gamma Drive Megaexo triple ring crankset that provides an expansive choice of gears for erratic terrain.

The 29” wheel size has become the choice of hardcore racers, and recreational riders alike, for the speed capabilities and the ability to roll over rocks and roots more efficiently than 26” wheels. The wheel build combination of Alex MD19 double wall rims, All Terra Alloy hubs and Maxxis Aspen tires provide bullet proof durability, minimal rolling resistance and optimal traction in the corners. When your horse gallops as fast as the Sensor 9R Elite, optimum stopping power is required, which is why GT went with the Avid Elixir 1 disc brakes and brake levers. Grab some buddies, climb into the saddle of the Sensor 9R Elite, strap on your hydration pack, and don’t look back!

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Bikes Sensor 9R Elite Bike 2013:

i bought this bike after i ket breaking my fisher. At first I didn't like it that much but once I broke it in it has turned out to be a great bike. Of course i had to ditch the aspen tires. the next think i'm looking into is getting rid of the seat clamp. it is terrible. Other bikes in this price range have bottom of the rung coil forks. As a over 200lb rider I couldn't take that chance.
