Looks good, I got this to replace the old square tapered cranks on my sons bike. He will outgrow his current bike soon so I didn't want to spend too much upgrading it. These cranks are light enough, and seem strong, I wish they were offered in 170mm. I almost feel like giving them a bad review, so they will be available next time I need them!

will upgrade soon

they ride good until under load, out of the saddle or pushing a big gear they seem to flex to the point that the chain hits the frt deraileur.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

I have used this crankset for over a year and never had any issues with it. I have not been easy on it to say the least. I weigh 200 lbs and have hit the bashguard against rocks and trees while crossing over them. The bashguard has lost some paint but my biggest chainring is still straight.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

Nice upgrade for a 5 year old, entry-level mountain bike. External bearing bottom bracket replaced a square-tapered sealed cartridge. The bottom bracket will fit a 68 or 73mm wide shell, pay attention to the placement of spacers in the instructions. It went in very easy. The hardest part was removing the original bottom bracket cups, I should have hit them with PB Blaster a day or two before. I also had to do some fiddling with the derailleur because the large chain ring was a tiny bit larger than the original (44 vs. 42). You can't beat this deal for a complete crankset with bottom bracket. I've paid more for just a set of chainrings.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

I got this crankset to replace an aging raceface Evolve ISIS set-up that was from ~2004. Installation was pretty straight forward, but make sure you check the directions. I had spacers on the wrong side of the spindle that would have mucked up the chainline. Also, the bashring is a little thin compared to the one I had previously. However, if you're just doing XC/AM riding and don't expect to be eating a bunch of rocks and logs you should be ok. I did find that since the chainrings are 9/10 compatible by 9-speed chain flopped around a bunch necessitating a chain guide. I can confirm this works ok with a Stinger, but you'll need to fiddle with the spacing from the BB/frame. Overall a good buy.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

Picked this crankset up to replace a STBB style crankset on my 650B SS. I wanted a bash to protect the chain and wasnt looking to break the bank. I came along this crankset and you cant beat the setup for the price. Its light weight and well made. I took the granny gear off and the chain line is perfect for my 32/19 setup. Cranks are stiff and no flex at all. The finish is great as well! Its very well made, the only thing I am not sure of is how long the stock BB will last but for the price and to get you going out of the box I can care less! If I get a year or so out of it and have to replace the BB the crankset / bash alone is still worth the price.

If you are looking for an upgrade on a stock bike this is well worth it. If you are building up a new bike and dont feel like dropping the coin on XT cranks then snag a set of these. I can say this is on the same level as FSA mid range cranks. Never had any problems with Raceface stuff so over all very happy with it.

Very easy to install and looks great on the bike!

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

I needed to replace a sealed square taper bottom bracket on an old mountain bike so I decided to make the upgrade to external bearing bottom bracket with the 22-32-44 chainring combination. About 300g lighter and stiffer than a comparable price S brand with square taper bottom bracket, and about 40% cheaper than the most similar one with external bearings. It also shifts beautifully. Sure, there are lighter cranksets, but for the price I have no complains. Currently instaled on a 7 speed bike, it also works with 8 or 9. Just make sure to order a 9 speed chain with it.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

My Trek 950 is over 20 years old and the Deore LX crankset needed new chainrings, but luckily I stumbled into this great deal. It was cheaper to buy this whole new crankset/bottom bracket from JensonUSA. (Better deal than those notorious sells-everything websites....you know who they are....)

Nice quality for the price, seems at least as stiff as the LX. Not only that, but my old legs appreciate the smaller bolt circle quite a bit. I found a 20 tooth stainless granny online, expected I'd have to do a little filing on the mounting posts to prevent chain skipping, but I was happy to find out it works great on this crank without any modification. Now I can climb hills until I fall over backwards on my head.

To top it off I didn't need to buy yet another expensive tool that I might never need again. The BB installed well enough with an old Park HCW12 spanner wrench. 73mm BB, just the one spacer on the drive side (when all else fails, read the instructions), worked like a charm, chainline was just right.

Listed as a 10-speed crank, I was a little concerned about the ring spacing vs. my 8-speed setup, but my concern was unfounded. True drop-in replacement, no diddling with spacers necessary.

As others have noted, even the instruction manual informs of a break-in period concerning BB seal friction, however mine was pretty good right off the bat. It seems not to have any more friction than the old square-taper BB it replaced.

If you're a recreational/intermediate rider, this is all the crankset you need. Buy one, you'll like it, before they're all gone.

Comments about Race Face Ride Crankset OE 2010:

My factory cranks, bottom bracket, and chain rings were worn out and this was an awesome replacement. They are very smooth and quiet and I have not experienced any bending or noise from them. I could not be happier with them as an everyday crank for someone who does not ride extremely hard.
