The Salsa Bend Bar 2 is an excellent choice for riders looking for an alternative mountain handlebar with a bit of backsweep. Available with either 17 or 23 degrees of sweep, the Salsa Bend 2 provides a natural hand position that delivers hours of comfortable riding. The nice and wide 710mm width gives you lots of leverage in the handling department and 5 deg of reversible vertical sweep furthers your options for fine tuning your cockpit.

Comments about Salsa Bend Bar 2:
I've been using the Salsa Bend 2 (23 deg sweep) on my rigid Surly Ogre for about 6 months with no complaints. The sweep provides a natural feeling hand position that I find to be extremely comfortable paired with Ergon GP1 Biokork grips. I've also used this bar with Salsa Backcountry Lock-On grips for shorter mountain rides with no troubles as well, but I find myself mostly riding mixed terrain for 3 or 4 hours at a time recently and the Bend 2 and Ergons make an excellent wrist-pain-free pair.
When researching these I found that many people feel that a bar with this kind of sweep compromises handling, but I haven't found this to be the case. The Salsa 2 is plenty wide and provides enough leverage that I feel confident when navigating technical terrain. That being said I wouldn't recommend this kind of bar for downhill and other more extreme riding. They seem best suited for fireroads, singletrack, and commuting situations.
