One of the most comfy bars
I have this set up on my touring bike and couldn't be happier. They replaced a Woodchipper which I really liked because of the fared drops but I found riding on the hoods really uncomfortable. The cowbells are a good compromise. I wished they came in 26.0 but that's not going to happen. Still haven't realized the benefit of 31.8 bars other than it looks good.

Cyclocross or wide shoulder riders
After searching, buying many alloy drop bars I have decided this bar in a 46cm is large enough for wide shoulders, and had a compact reach to the drops like an FSA Omega compact. I use the FSA on my road bike in a 44cm. I wish it was just a little wider, but it works. One thing to note, the 46cm from salsa is a larger measurement than euro measurements. I'm not sure where they measure from but a 44cm Salsa Pro Road 3 is larger than a 44cm FSA omega by just a bit.
I use the Salsa on a cross bike, but it's not flared enough to be out of the question for a road bike if you needed a wider plate form than that offered for the typically petite riders in the sport.

Awesome Handle bars
Got these to replace the Salsa bell lap bars (which were previous version of these. These are FAR superior is every way. These are nice and compact in nearly every dimension, and feel stiff and durable. I use them on my commuter/touring bike and they are perfect. I'm sure they would make a good cross handlebar too.

The Best
I was running Salsa Short and Shallows and changed over to the Salsa Cow Bell in a 46cm size. The bars are so perfect for racing cyclocross it is unbelievable. The price is reasonable for such a well thought out design. Really stoked on them!
Would buy a Carbon version if it was available.

These bars are awesome!!!!
These bars were recommended by a team mate, and Im glad he did.
The short reach and shallow drop are ideal for someone with small hands.
I get a great pull when in the drops equating to more power do to the flare.
I have had problems on my road bike while in the drops of hitting the top bar, not with these. I bought them for my cross bike and i will be buying another set for my road bike

Really nice bars
I bought these for a drop bar MTB that I was building as my commuter and for eventual use as a expedition or bikepacking rig when I can afford a Troll or Fargo frame. These bars fit my application perfectly. The only issue was due to my own fault, I ordered the 46cm bars which turned out to be a little too wide. I think the 42cm version would be perfect. These are great bars, I really like the shallow drop. I would not hesitate to buy them again, I would just go with the 42cm.

Solid
A solid bar, as noted, true to size. I tried this on my cross bike for a long (100+mi) charity ride, all on road. Lots of hills. Solid handling on steep downhills, rough roads. The short reach and drop allows quick, steady maneuvering. Short drop leaves not as many positions as I would have liked for a really long ride. At least in this set up, low drop makes it a little hard to position on the brakes.

PROS: Comfortable, Strong

BEST USES: Cyclocross, Gravel
