I have this set up on my touring bike and couldn't be happier. They replaced a Woodchipper which I really liked because of the fared drops but I found riding on the hoods really uncomfortable. The cowbells are a good compromise. I wished they came in 26.0 but that's not going to happen. Still haven't realized the benefit of 31.8 bars other than it looks good.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These bars were recommended by a team mate, and Im glad he did.
The short reach and shallow drop are ideal for someone with small hands.
I get a great pull when in the drops equating to more power do to the flare.
I have had problems on my road bike while in the drops of hitting the top bar, not with these. I bought them for my cross bike and i will be buying another set for my road bike

A solid bar, as noted, true to size. I tried this on my cross bike for a long (100+mi) charity ride, all on road. Lots of hills. Solid handling on steep downhills, rough roads. The short reach and drop allows quick, steady maneuvering. Short drop leaves not as many positions as I would have liked for a really long ride. At least in this set up, low drop makes it a little hard to position on the brakes.
