I bought this Beam because I just bought a new FSR rig and it would not fit my Saris Bones Bike Rack becasue of the rear suspension. The Beam fit the bike nicely and the length was adjustable. The problem I had was that the Beam was far to thin. The straps for the Bike Rack could not get tight enough for the beam to remain secure. Which is dissapointing as it is a Saris Bike beam, you would think it would be designed for any Saris rack but that is clearly not the case. So it was a little scary trusting the beam with my brand new bike. Ended up buying a Yakima Bike rack that fits my bike better but isnt really any more secure.

was transporting down the road and looked back and it had popped open lucky i had a strap wrapped from the frame to the bar. it held it up till i stopped on the freeway. Lot scary. drilled out the cheap push locks and installed pins that go all the way through. but really don't use it too much anymore. modified the rack so i didn't have to use it. didn't want to take the chance. expensive chance to take.

This item has serve its purpose with a little modification it was a really good buy. The price is one of the cheapest that actually locks around the seat post and handle bar area
