After less than one year I could not install the rack. The right ratcheting mechanism failed. When I looked closely I could see the pawls were slipping off the sides of the gear. There should be guide plates on either side of the pawls to prevent this. Frustrating since I thought this was by far the best rack I had ever used.
Reminds me of Napolean's quote about losing a battle for want of a nail.
