Schwalbe Hans Dampf 26"Supergravity Tire

Schwalbe Hans Dampf Super Gravity Tire

In German, Hans Dampf translates to “A Jack of All Trades.” The Schwalbe Hans Dampf is exactly that! Tuned for optimum control and total riding enjoyment, the tread functions with complete poise and is responsive in all conditions. The Hans Dampf comes in three compound options. The PaceStar Compound employs a fast rolling center with grippy shoulders , enabling both the speed and handling required on race day. The TrailStar Compound is as light as a freeride tire and rugged as a downhill tire; an Enduro-bred beast. The VertStar Compound features a softer compound with more Downhill capabilities. This truly is the Swiss army knives of mountain bike tires!

Compounds

PaceStar - MTB Race, All Mountain Compound. Super-fast with a combination of low rolling resistance and durability. The tire shoulders were made appreciably softer to improve handling on rough terrain. Construction: Easy rolling base layer (base), Fast center (medium), Grippy shoulders (medium soft).

TrailStar - Enduro and Freeride Compound. Triple Nano compound was unsuitable performance-wise and the rolling resistance of Gooey Gluey was too high. TrailStar has substantially more grip, better damping and handling control. Nevertheless, the compound is not overly heavy, making it suitable for climbing too. Construction: Easy rolling base layer (base), Grippy center (medium soft), Extra-grippy shoulders (soft).

VertStar - Downhill and Freeride Compound. It is a further development of the Gooey Gluey compound, but now even softer with extremely good damping properties. Construction: Easy rolling base layer (base), Super-soft center (super soft), Extra-soft Shoulders (extremely soft).

Great Tire and Great Service
I bought this set of tires to update my 26" mountain bike. On the trail they have been fantastic and well worth the investment. Jenson's customer service has been second to none. This item was Back order but Jensen kept me updated every step of the way.

Hans Dampf rules!
my last tire was a Schwalbe rock razor, and although it is a fun tire, it is not very durable, at least on the normal version. So before a race a changed back to the Hans Dampf, which has always performed excellent, but in the gravity version, because the race would be in a trail with very sharp rocks. And it delivered. Lots of riders puncture and I didn't. And I didn't really felt the extra weight that much.

Supergravity!
Before this tire I had the rock razor from Schwalbe as well, but although it is a fun tire, y was not very durable (I wasn't using the supergravity version). So I changed back to the Hans damps that has shown to be a very versatile tire and with the supergravity version I was able to race confident that I would not puncture. So although it is a little heavier, it's worth the extra pounds in exchange for confidence.

Great tire.
I bought these to put on my wife's bike so she could keep up with me on my fat bike. And now I'm struggling to keep with her. These things are super grippy and handle well. I even took her bike out for a ride in the snow and was pleasantly surprised at how well they dug and kept under the bike.

PROS: Attractive Design, Super Grippy, Lightweight

CONS: Difficult To Install

BEST USES: Mountain Biking, Upgrade

Great tier great price blowout
I like trying out alot of the brands out there I do use Kenda Also for rocky decline,in comparison these are great, lighter the Pacestar in rear are fast and hook up great. Just added the Vertstar up front and wow highly recommend it just ordered some more (3) Pacestar Noby Nics 2.10 before these are all gone.Seems the bike I resurrected takes a slimmer tier in rear. I'll use these Pacestar either up front when Vertstar is gone or slide it took my DH since I stocked up on these. Riden them on street to dirt and in the rain. Great hand no loss of traction on pavement nor on the hill from hero dirt to some good patches of mud puddles tiers seem to still keep holding on. Jump on these while they got some great prices on good rubber.
