I got a pair of these in the 700x28 size. I installed one on the rear wheel and put the other on the shelf as a spare.
They look great. They have a wonderful ride. Schwalbe's reputation is really great in the industry. I thought, man, these are as expensive as car tires, but I guess they are worth it.
But about 400 miles in, that rear tire developed a sidewall bulge. I caught it before it blew out. Sheesh! What a waste. But it must have been a fluke. So I installed the second tire. It did the same thing in just *under* 200 miles. Yikes.
The location of these significant sidewall bulges was slightly different in relationship to the tire markings. But the bulges were so similar....some kind of delamination in the manufacturing process? Maybe it was just a problem with this particular batch. But at this price, I am not expecting any such quality control problems. Even though I did love the ride, I am super-disappointed. I simply don't have this kind of money to throw away on a tire.
