Saddle shopping is difficult, but Selle Royal helps to simplify the process by categorizing their saddles by riding style. After discovering this saddle, it has easily become a favorite. It may not be for everyone, but the quality, comfort, weight for its size, and even the style (for what it is) is just right for me and my Rapid 3. Maintaining comfort in the saddle allows me to focus on riding. This saddle is definitely one to consider.

I have been using this seat for the last several years, most recently on my Specialized FSR 29er. Most importantly to me, it is very comfortable. I ride mainly singletrack trails (no mountains in Florida) with lots of roots and jumps and this seat keeps me in the saddle for as long as the rest of my body can take it with no sitting discomfort. It has held up amazingly well thanks in part to the side guards. The rails are very strong (unlike cheaper sets which I have bent). The only reason I am buying a new one now is the old saddle was cut with a sharp object while loading on the bike rack a while back. The cut has grown very slowly over the past year or so and could last another but at this price I can afford a new one.

I'm 53 and just getting into mountain biking as a hobby I can enjoy with my 27 year old son. I purchased a Specialized Rockhopper 29 as my first bike. I really liked the bike but the seat was very uncomfortable. I was always sore after rides even with padded shorts. After reading many reviews on Jenson USA, I purchased Selle Royal Respiro. What a difference!! I now can ride without being sore. I love the venting as it's very hot here in Georgia during the summers. Great seat!

Installed this saddle on my 80's era Ross MTB commuter and have found it to be really comfortable for everyday use as well as longer rides. I can't really vouch for it's cooling effectiveness, but the quality of construction and durability are top notch. Comfort is subjective of course, but I've been really happy with this upgrade.

The best saddle I've ever had. In terms of comfort, even better than the Scientia series(I have an A3 for my fixie)

This seat was a great upgrade to my bike. Its decently comfortable without sacrificing too much in way of weight and size. Only been able to use it a couple times so far but its been nice.

I purchased this seat to combat pudendal nerve compression which led to 3 days of numbness in my genitals after a short ride on my Specialized Sequoia on my stock saddle. I subsequently went on a much longer ride with no numbness at all. I already had one on my my mountain bike. The gel is firm and stays put and contributes to the overall comfort. The screened channel will help with the summer heat.

it tends to slope forward slightly. I find myself pushing against the handlebars to keep from sliding off the front. I do like the somewhat wider seat though.

Moderate seems to mean wider than what most would consider moderate, The back of my thighs rub a bitThe athletic version is actually moderate in my opinion being comparable in width to say a b17 by brooks which sets the standard for "moderate" width.
