I'm comparing serfas to Avid OEM and Rav-X pads.
The OEM pads are horrible. They work for light braking, but performance degrades quickly when they heat up. They become useless on steep technical descents and are extremely noisy. I replaced mine which had more than 50% pad life left.
I tried Rav-X pads next. These pads performed well. They don't make any noise and didn't suffer performance fade on long descents. Stopping power was OK, but nothing to write home about. After one season, I still had about 45% pad life.
I just installed serfas pads front and rear. I've put about 150 miles on them. 10 rides later and these are now my first choice. Braking performance is excellent. I use my front brake about 60% of the time on a 180mm rotor. I was considering moving to a 203mm but with these pads it's not necessary. Braking is smooth and consistent. They have good modulation, and great stoping power in comparison to Avid OEM or the Rav-X pads. They have worked well for me. Cold or hot, wet or dry conditions. Planning to install these on my other 2 bikes as well.

I noticed it delivers a little less breaking power than the old Avid's I had on, but that's not a big issue for easy xc riding. Compared to the original Avid set, it seems a little thicker, so it's good to reset the brake pistons at maximum in order to fit the pads and keep your wheel spinning freely. Haven't tested them in wet conditions yet.
One other little thing: the name "Elixir" is misspelled in the manufacture's package: Exilir.

Comments about Serfas Avid Elixir Disc Brake Pads:
I bought these when the spring on my avid brakes broke. They are an excellent replacement, and for the price you can't get anything better!

Comments about Serfas Avid Elixir Disc Brake Pads:
I purchased these to replace a very noisy oem set on my newer Elixir 3s and they are very quiet after about 50 miles. The power is no quite what the oem pads provided but it doesn't really impact my riding. I'll gladly trade a bit of power for XC riding over the horrendous noise that the oem pads made. Good product.

Had no problem installing these on my Elixer 5s. They work fine, at less then half the price of OEM.

Comments about Serfas Avid Elixir Disc Brake Pads:
Got tired of the stock pad noise so I installed these because they were the cheapest. I would consider these an upgrade. First time down a local 3 mile fire road with these pads I was 2 minutes quicker because of the excellent feel of the brake pads. Second time down I matched my previous best even tho I had 4 snow/ice patches to get thru. Best upgrade I have ever done!

I used these pads for replacements on my 29er hard-tail. The Serfas pads stop as well as the original pads I'd used in the past at less than half the price!

Avid is junk. Anything made by anyone else other than Avid is better. These are no exception. These are better than anything Avid makes.
