The Serfas Bike Case is a smart choice for travelling with your favorite bicycle. Not only is the strong polyethylene shell tough enough to protect your bike, but this particular case has stood the test of time since its introduction in 1999 as a consistently popular case from Serfas. Locking latches keep everything held together tight and protect against tampering hands during shipping / transport. The SBC includes 3 foam layers that assist with packing of the bike and two heavy duty casters built into the case make getting your bike from car to plane and back again no trouble at all.
Two heavy duty casters for easy mobility
Sturdy Polyethylene Shell
4 Stainless Steel locking latches for extra security
So far, used one time on a domestic flight with no problems. Sturdy construction, good clasps, and items were well secured within. Wheels work OK while walking but box ends up colliding with heels. An upright orientation possibly with 4 wheels would be better.
Big plus, is that it fit in back seat of small rental car. But, note that even for a 26" mountain bike (large Ibis Mojo) the fit inside box is very tight. Fork needed to be removed and tires slightly deflated. 29" wheels fit but tires will need to be completely deflated, which means dealing with potentially losing sealant and resealing tires upon unpacking.
