I use this light on my helmet 6 days a week commuting to and from work. It's plenty bright enough for commuting and awesome when matched with the Serfas 1500 on the bars for trail rides. I use this light almost everyday and no problems so far.

This light is definately worth getting if you need a light to ride at night. It is bright enough to be (faintly)seen against the ground during the day. The only problem i have is with the mount. The part that clips to the light is plastic and feels flimsy. It is not as easy to take on and off as I would like but besides for that there is nothing wrong with this light. A little on the pricy side but I guess all bike things are.

Bought this item about a month ago on sale, wow, great price. Took it riding in the River Valley at night, it was amazing. The second or third setting were sufficient enough for me. If you hold the power button down for about 2 seconds the light will switch off, useful feature, I do not remember that being mentioned in the manual. Overall very happy with the product. The strap is very strong and looks like it's going to last. Didn't test the helmet one yet but it seems to be pretty straight forward. A friend told me that he used to have 2 lights, one on the helmet and one on the handle bar. Ok, i see the benefit but I am sure he didnt use the serfas. Would submit a picture but my bike got stolen. Looks great on the handle bar. A bit pricy, but at this time of my life I look for quality and durability, this has both plus the looks. Would get 250 lumens if the 500 wasn't on sale, plus i like the coloring of the 250 a bit better. Have it in my back pack and use it as a flash light.

I've been doing night rides with regular incandescent halogen lights for 25 years but was looking for something that was smaller, lighter, and easier to deal with. The True 500 is amazing! It's as bright as you'll need on familiar trails for speeds up to 20mph or so. If you're traveling faster on familiar trails or riding unfamiliar trails, you might want another one on your helmet.

The light gives off a bright white light that has a great beam pattern. The mount is easy to adjust and doesn't slip. My only complaint about the mounting is that the left to right adjustment is rather coarse. I run mine on the 'high' setting, which is plenty for the area I'm riding in. I love the fact that the light is so small, powerful, and self contained. For the money, I don't think you can do better. This blows my old halogen system with the separate battery out of the water. I am beyond satisfied and would wholehartedly recommend this light!
